Can one FFL transfer my firearm that I bought from Palmetto to another FFL locally ?
Why did they refuse it?
@SuperPredator is an ffl, he might be able to clarify a question you have, although he is in SC and not California.
The sending FFL has to send additional paperwork required by the state of CA for the receiving FFL to be able to accept the package. If the gun arrived without it, the receiving FFL has to refuse it.
Firearm safety certificate is what it’s called.
I ordered a ATI GSG and the owner states they don’t like to deal with AR15 types of weapons. My order has already been shipped so he hasn’t received it yet but I was looking at my options.
If he refuses it will probably go back to PSA. You better call CS tomorrow.
Ahh, i see. Yeah, with how many rules and regs California has on “assault rifles”, it’s a lot of work for the FFL to know if what he’s transferring is legal or not. He’s also assuming a lot of risk by completing the transfer.
I truly hate what you are going through. I also understand his position on it too. Rock and a hard place.

But to answer your original question, yes, the FFL that received it can simply transfer/ship it to another FFL local to you. The issue with that is that you’ll have to pay him to ship it to the next FFL, and probably pay the transfer fee too. PLUS you’ll have to pay the transfer fee at the next FFL too. And that’s IF they are willing to complete the transfer. Could you imagine shipping it to a new FFL and they refuse it too?
That would just add to the nightmare but this time I will contact a few way ahead of time.
Update: I was told they would accept it after all.

Nice! Glad it got resolved!
The owner thought it was an AR15 and I assured him it was not. Even though I explained to the guy on the phone that it wasn’t.
