Any news on an opening date
Welcome to the forum
@joshuamarkennis
I’m sure someone will give you a update soon. Enjoy
My last ride by of the new PSA this week I saw that the landscaping and parking lot are very close to complete, it looks great! I have no idea about the inside progress, but I suspect there is still a lot to be done.
I drive by there almost every day and it’s making progress but very, very slowyly. It was originally suppose to be openend in 2020 but then came the Pandemic and delays. Then it was going to open in 2021 but that never happened either. Then for sure in September of 2022 but that date came and went. So now it’s 2023 and my guess it will open sometime this year? They did have a Hiring event in November of 2022 which is a hopeful sign that things are somewhat progressing and my best guess is that the Myrtle Beach location will open sometime in the Summer or Fall of 2023. But this is South Carolina and things are progressing a lot slower than elsewhere in this country so we will just have to wait and see.
Unfortunately No. It’s been 3 years since they announced the opening of this place but yet no Cigar. However, it is progressing and they are working on the Parking Lot and landscaping which is usually a good sign. My guess it will open sometime this Summer. Maybe have an all American 4th of July Grand opening?? Or maybe Black Friday?? Maybe somewhere inbetween.
There have been multiple extremely legit reasons for the delays down there. Do I want it to open March 1st? Yes I do. Do I completely understand the delays? Yes I do.
dual post
I am sure they do have good reasons for their delays. Nobody says otherwise. I am very glad you understand the delays. I sure don’t but I am sure they have good reasons like Material shortages, Staffing issues, the old Newspaper Building needed major modifications and remodeling for their purposes, etc. etc. We get it. We are just anxious for them to finally open up.
The ammunition/primer plant a little west being an opportunity to get the store (and the rest of the country) more than a pittance of such… Yeah, I’ll wait.
Just try to get a house built, and you will understand completely. Then add in the compliance with the special nature of the regulatory stuff involved with this industry. It’s surprising anything gets built at all these days.
Granted, there was the Pandemic, the supply shortage, the labor shortage. etc, etc, Plus this is South Carolina where things move a lot slower than anywhere else in this country. And I did build a house here and yes there were delays. Not 3 years worth but it took way longer than expected. And I am happy to report that the New PSA in Myrte Beach will be opening soon. It seems the building is ready on the outside and the Lighted Sign is flashing coming Soon. So I am hopefull that soon doesn’t mean Next Year even in South Carolina ![]()
Very Nice Building ineed. Drove by there yesterday and it looks ready to go. Even the Large Lighted LED sign is flashing Coming soon! Can’t wait to spend my money there ![]()
Don’t forget they put it on hold for the Ammo Plant.
I might have to apply for a part time job too!
With all the permits and inspection plus putting in a shooting range I’m sure complicates matters and the liability insurance. To be honest, I’m thinking mid April at the earliest
Ammo Plant? What Ammo Plant?
Well, that is just around the corner. Perhaps around Easter? Have an Easter Egg Hunt in the Parking Lot with Coupon and Prizes inside or perhaps something really expensive. A REAL EGG.
The store was put on hold to build the AAC Ammo Plant in W. Columbia. IIRC
i think that you’re about right…plenty of TV adds for PSA on the local channels.
