Fords, Chevys, Dodges,Toyota etc…….all come to the customer already painted. And in no time flat they rust like alec Baldwin . The difference here is the rifle costs 1 or 2 months payment for the mobile rust away buckets. ![]()
Mine don’t. Unless the surface of the paint is damaged.
My EC9s did, even when i put it inside a sealed case. I do live in Texas, i put CLP on it, but i don’t wanna carry a great gun, so eventually i just rattle can-ed it black with old trusty Rust-Oleum
Is this for/on all AK receivers from PSA? If so cool
Taking notes on what different companies do and found this thread from some years back.
On a side note, One of my AKs gets direct sprays/humid from the shower ever other day for two years and looks brand new. So. Not sure what happened above fwiw.
PSA does all their AK’s the same.
Arsenal is paint over park, their finish is known to be poor. Basically wipes off with most cleaners .
Wbp and FB probably share a finish if I were a to guess. They don’t share exactly the same factory, but they do share some parts. I think it’s phosphate.
I had a freind who use to work at a company that would plasma coat paper mill rollers for corrosion ,grip or lubrication. They could adjust the powder for smooth to rough. It looked cool.
I wonder if psa would consider r n d. Its like spray paint with fire and powdered metal!
I would totally volunteer to test the durability and long-term exposure to abuse on the sample guns ![]()
Better off sandblasting or buy a new one. Consider this a learning experience. You can strip these downs in a few minutes and after a sandblast just cerekote…Might as well get a new barrel too. They are pretty cheap
