5.7 Rock 25¢ trigger job!
I spent some time today familiarizing myself (as much as I could lol) with the function of the Rock’s trigger. After carefully disassembling the frame I was pleasantly surprised to find that PSA came really close to having a modular pistol. The “guts” of the frame are basically divided into 2 main housings that are each retained with 2 pins. After narrowing in on the tiny areas I wanted to stone and polish, I disassembled the rear housing and started working on the parts. I’m sure there are technical terms for these two little pieces, but I couldn’t even guess at their names.
After polishing I reassembled and did some function checks. I absolutely could not believe the difference in the trigger! Absolutely insane how it improved and reduced the pull weight! I was averaging 7lbs+ originally, and now it’s consistently 3.5lbs. I’ve always polished components on Glocks/clones in the past and never had much luck reducing pull weight. At best you just help smooth things out and fast-forward your break in. This is an entirely different outcome and so far I couldn’t be more pleased. Definitely need to go to the range, but it feels like whole new gun.
I apologize for my photos. In all honesty, I only took them in an attempt to help me remember how to reassemble the frame lol. Be warned, there are lots of little pieces compared to Glocks/clones!
