New on the site. Looking for a good holster for a fat man

Hey everyone. Happy New Year (almost). I just ordered my first Rock, and I’m looking for a good holster for a fat guy. I’ve been carrying for years, and have yet to find a holster that’s actually comfortable, other than a pocket holster for my .380, and pocket carry just isn’t practical for anything of any size.

What would y’all recommend?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Sorry but as far as the holster goes, I am of no use on recommendations as I am of a small size person.

You might consider a belly band holster or look at these as they are designed for larger users. I’m kind of in between, not skinny and too fat to make it practical.

Well, that probably fits me as well. Not fat, just with a big belly. I’ve carried for years off and on, but I’ve never found anything that was comfortable. Bearable, yes, but certainly not comfortable.

Although I HAVE been losing weight, enough that I can now Appendix carry - it’s still uncomfortable, even with a Compact. (but I can actually FIT a full-size like a P226 or TH40 there now, just don’t ask me to sit or bend down!)

I have a body shape that allows me to conceal IWB most-comfortably at 7-5 O’Clock. OWB of course can go anywhere, but that’s not such an easy conceal, of course.

I am gojng to be interested to see how the rock compact conceals. If it more in line with a commander size 1911 it will become more of a daily for many folks.

I’m not super fat but appendix is definitely out for me. I have had good luck with the phlster floodlight

So does anybody have experience with the fattac holsters (https://fattac.com/)? They don’t show the rock, but they do show the daggers.

Also, are there other models out there that are similar enough in size and measurements so that their holsters will work with the rock?

Can’t help with holster, need one myself for a small guy that will work with a red dot and light. I can do without lifht but prefer to keep it. But the Rock is a blast to shot for me. Hope you find what you’re looking for.

Take a look at 3 Speed Holsters. I’m a big guy with a big gut and have been carrying an FN Five Seven Full Size with both a Green Dot and a laser for years in one of their holsters. It’s comfortable and very unnoticeable. It’s a 12 o’clock carry They make it for the Rock both with the regular and threaded barrels.
