NC Governor Roy Cooper (D) has had his Veto of a bill aboloshing the need for Sheriffs of NC’s 100 Counties to issue purchase permits overidden . No more is it required to obtain Hand Guns through Retail channels…
The Pistol Purchase Permit is seen as a Jim Crow era rule by some, a Money Grab by most.
The process is Long and pointless with the NICS system in place.
This is a huge victory for a state that has leaned further Left with each passing decade.
My thanks go out to the 71 Representatives whom overode this mindless Veto.

I recieved a letter this evening from the NC Sheriffs Association regarding todays action.
Folks whom have applied for a Purchase Permit will Not recieve one.
You are Not entitled to Refund if you are waiting on a Purchase Permit. This was a fee for the application and No provision for Refunds were ever set up.
If you paid?..Expect Nothing and you will never be disappointed.

Interesting. Missouri and Arkansas have continued with their Permitting process, even with Constitutional Carry.
Reciprocity.
This is about Pistol Purchase Permits…Not Conceal Carry Permits.
Resiprosity doesn’t enter into it , as they’ll still have to mail it to an FFL in your State regarding a Hand Gun.
Lots of stuff going on…easily confused issues.

There are a few issues tied to this. Church Carry , Church/ attached School issues…and lastly Firearms Storage issues.
Yes…A Right took a step out of the Quick Sand of the Privledges today…but there are attached issues.
It saddens me that we have to Rule and Regulate the Safe Storage of Firearms at this point in the history of mankind , yet some just don’t seem to get it.
The number of Guns stolen from Cars. Half of them Un-Locked Cars in my County is very disturbing. Half or more of these are used in the commision of One or More Felonies in very short order. These are more and more often committed by teenage Minors.
The number of deaths of young minors in my county is purely heartbreaking. We all know kids are curious beings. Telling them No…Don’t touch only goes so far.
I know I got into things I shouldn’t have , many times. I only got caught for a fraction of my transgressions. The Rod was not spared accordingly.
The supposed Responsible Adult has to step up and prove themselves as a responsible Gun Owner. Parent. Guardian and Neighbor.
