Great price.

That’s a Decent set.

Will PSA run a Black Friday thread for sales from PSA & other sites?

You can create one in GD if you want. Pre-BF sales are also already ongoing.

My best deal was this Tisas A1 at Rural king, on sale for $296.99, with tax and fees, it was right around $315 out the door.

That is one hell of a deal.

I have drooled over one locally at $449.99 .

I love the Wide Hammer Tisas has reached back to use… the finish just nails it.

Enjoy it.

the wide thumb area on the hammer is actually more accurate for the 1911A1s that we used in the service. the narrow hammer is a later addition, im not sure if it was a civillian part or if the military changed to a thinner hammer thumb pad on their own later down the road (like korea war or vietnam war eras) A good book to reference would be the vickers 1911 book. his books are incredible… .a little pricey, but man they are awesome historically

The wide Hammers were indicative of Colts of both 1911 and 1911A1 variants.

My 1944 Remington Rand has the narrower Hammer as do Ithaca’s from the later war years . The Ithaca’s being the less detailed of all the War era makes.

Like I said…Tisas reached back to utilize a closer to perfect original design in a very economical pistol. MIM and Labor costs playing a huge role in that.

Tisas is also using a Front Sight that was replaced in models made after 1941 in GI variants.

How it functions or lasts is debatable? Some videos indicate a break in period or lots of failures to feed. …others function like a Swiss Watch.

Blanket judgement on 1911’s is a hard thing to do . Too many variables between the Pistol , Magazine , Ammo Type and the person behind the trigger to say if all are Good or Bad?

I’d think for the money and with its external appearance, add some quality internals parts and you’ve got a great Shooter for life.

To further support the Colt Hammer theory…look at any Argentinian made Sistema Colt Modelo 1927.

The first 10,000 1927’s were made in Hartford Ct , then Argentina built a plant and Colt Shipped Tooling , Engineering Support and some skilled labor to get the program moving. All Modelo 1927’s are M1911A1 copies , to include the wide hammer.

Seems Tisas made a change or addition to this product line.

The new entraint is the Tisas M1911A1 US ARMY WG ( Wooden Grips)

The WG comes in a Hard Case instead of a cardboard box.

Comes with 2ea. 7 Round Magazines instead of 1 Magazine

Import marks relocated to make it more palatable for M1911 / A1 fans. The previous SDS brand name removed entirely.

The wood grips are a Pale reproduction of the Colt Double Diamond design…seems the previous attempt at recreating the GI Plastic Grip fell short with the fan base.

319.99 plus insurance, fees and FFL $358.59 in my hands. Hard lockable case, lock, cleaning brush, takedown tool, 2 Mec-Gar magazines made in Italy. Very happy so far.

Went to pick up a 1921 Vintage Remington Model 51 in .380ACP that I'd put on Layaway a couple of weeks ago.

I collect Replicas of Pistols used by General George Smith Patton Jr. Of WWII fame.

After putting the Remington in my C&R Log I asked the guys if they’d received anymore of the Tisas M1911A1’s ? Preferably one with the WG suffix for Wood Grip and with Two Magazines and the Hard Case ?

We looked at the Display Pistol and Three others , finally finding One that had everything to include a spare set of Plastic Grips and Two Parkerized Checkmate Magazines.

Seems Tisas is all over the map on whom supplies their Magazines from day to day.

I put this one on Layaway immediately.

auto ordinance’s A1 is also a wide hammer and is a very nice reproduction of the original. I’d say its even more accurate than the Springfield GI 1911 which used to be desired as a very close representation of the GI 1911s that were issued. Having owned both, i kept the Sprinfield and sold the AutoOrdinance.

I hate to disagree but the Auto Ordnance 1911 's aka M1911A1 (BKO) for Black Oxide Finish is just a nice attempt at reproducing the original article. First things first…the Auto Ordnance is an 80 Series with a Firing Pin Block Vs the 70 Series or original design.

AO/Kahr could take creative license as a true reproduction was obviously never true goal.

I’d venture to guess they picked the Old School Colt Wide Hammer due to ancient history linking the real Colt Firearms and Gen Thompson’s AO with the assembly of the 1st 15,000 Thompsons produced. AO lacking production capabilities at the time.

Auto Ordnance built a nice Pistol…basically a hedge for those whom didn’t want a 1911A1 style piece with made in the Philippines or Turkey on it.

I just dug out my Springfield Armory M1911-A1 as they brand it. I’d call it pretty close to the real McCoys of the day…but mine has the narrowed (Spur) type hammer indicative of the Remington Rands and Ithaca’s of the day.

Im sure many GI Colt M1911A1’s lost their Wide Hammers during the Post War Re-Arsenaling process too.

I have one 1911 I’m real wild about…its a hell of a shooter and looks like I’d dropped a hit of Blotter LSD before putting it together.

The slide was a Colt 1911 US Army void of any finish when I obtained it.

The Frame and Trigger was an early example AMT from the original and desirable Arcadia Ca location… in OEM brushed Stainless. The frame has a vintage Colt Wide Hammer installed.

The polished old school Colt Slide and the more modern AMT Stainless created an interesting combination of pieces slapped together.

This and an MS Safari Arms 1911 I have always draw looks at the Range , as nobody has clue about either 99% of the time.

I’ll include a Pic with a Caspian Custom build , Taurus , Taylor and Co. , MS Safari Arms, Springfield and the Colt /AMT FrankenGun.

The FrankenGun will hold Serve with any of these , this is about half of the total 1911’s I have.

no its cool man about agreeing to disagree. Ya you’re right about the 80 series but i was speaking more on the overall look than i was the internals of the pistol. The Auto Ordinance I had , was a pretty good example of a GI pistol. i may have a picture of it here… lemme see… ah yeah i do here it is…

now comparing that gun to my 1943 Colt with a Remington Rand slide, (all internal parts are Colt marked) i’d say its aesthetically pretty close in appearance to each other. However you can tell my 1943 has a small hammer. Not the wide hammer.

I do agree that AO/Kahr may not have had the true reproduction as being their goal, but i would say that they did have the idea that they wanted it to look like the real thing. I can say i dont blame them for having it on an 80 series, for the safety block, versus the original 70’s series guns. Im not so much of a purist, when it comes to that, although i know many are.

Now regarding the springfield, I have had both, the 1911A1 GI and the 1911A1 Mil Spec. The GI is no longer in production, and the Mil Spec is now the closest you can get from springfield that is like the old GI issued guns of our military. Now comparing the two above with my GI pistol, you can see the small differences there, and when comparing the GI to the Mil - Specc, well i already posted a small graphic about the differences there of those two, and it shows the GI as the more accurate gun to our guns used by our mililtary. (this of course does not include those modified by SOCOM or Delta.)

now regarding the nice group photo you have posted up, i may have one of mine from a while back. Its not current but it gives you a small idea of some of the ones i like having. Check it out. Again, its not current, and i may not have all these anymore, or any of them anymore actually… lol.

I see We share a common interest .

I got the Tisas M1911A1 out of Gun Purgatory this afternoon.

I got back from one Shop and another was calling me about a second Argentinian. 45ACP Ballester Molina I had to have refinished before any real damage set in. That’s another to assemble once I get the pieces home.

I have a GI Remington Rand circa 1944 in my collection from my days at Bragg…100% original. That was my first in what’s been a lifetime of interest.

Im also a fan of 1911’s built under license from Colt like the Modelo 1927 Sistema Colt which is in this pic , and the Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914… something I will own.

I also collect Spainish made Stars and Llama’s that take some traits of the 1911 into account. I even have a Star Model B with Nazi Waffenampt Acceptance stamps.
