Non PSA slide release from factory?

So last week I picked up a gray frame to go along with a gray slide that I got a while back. Yesterday I’m playing with the gun racking the slide pulling the trigger going through the motions etc. Almost immediately I noticed something is not right with the slide release lever. It most definitely does not feel natural and does not feel like a dagger should feel.

So I look at the lever, run my thumb across it a few times and immediately realize that it’s not a dagger slide release lever. It does not look the same, it does not feel the same, and it doesn’t fill in the area that is provided on the frame for the lever like the original ones do.

I absolutely am not complaining. This is an observation. I’m wondering if they used parts from an alternate supplier due to short inventory? Or have they completely swapped over to a different style?

Here is a pic of the gray frame and also pics of all of my other frames for reference.

I will be changing this to the “correct” style just so it looks and feels like it is supposed to. But now my only concern is if I order one from PSA and have it delivered which one is it going to look like?

Has anyone noticed different styles of slide release levers on any of their daggers?

Edit: if I do have a complaint about it, it would be that it has a sharp edge. That is actually what made me realize something is not right, the top edge of it is sharp and you notice it on your thumb.

I just checked my newest Dagger a few weeks old compared to one from a year old I have the same results as you.

New ones are just like that. I always chop them anyway cause the extended ones make my gun fail to lock open.
