I’m a retired LEO and currently working Cold Cases with my local Sheriffs Dept. My carry weapon ( both on and off duty ) is a Five Seven with a Viridian C5L and a Holosun 507k x2. My on duty holster is a Garrett Silent Thunder Maverick. Off duty I carry it in a 3 Speed Holster.
Only thing I don’t like about the Five Seven is the plastic slide cover and plastic magazines. The Rock addresses both of these issues and using Glock sights there is a much wider selection available. I’ve had a trigger action job on my Five Seven done by Jay at Elite Ammunition so don’t expect the trigger to be as crisp and light on the Rock but Jay gives it a great review.
Greetings all. This is my first optics firearm so I wasnt too sure about fit but riton optics 3 tactix mprd 2 popped in flawlessly. Its a budget one but so far so good. Love the look and feel
They just dropped a Rock with night sights but no threaded barrel. I think the threaded barrel option is just a myth.
Its coming…
Theres hoping my dude … ive been waiting for that one to come out today just standard with night sights … id like all the above lol
im just gonna pick up a threaded barrel when they come out and fit it to my rock at that point if i want to shoot suppressed.
lol they move fast.
PSA puts stuff up a few days before it drops. Perhaps tomorrow?
How much is the threaded version???
Dont know yet. I imagine $699.
close… i just want the barrell alone, not the whole slide and all. i know i know, quit being picky… lolol
Go get them gents before they sell out. Got mine and can’t wait to blow all my expensive ammo! Hopefully PSA will make their own 5.7 ammo.
Same boat, bought one first chance I got, swapped in night-sights and just waiting for the barrel. I think if I ever want to swap to a red dot I’d probably just snag one of the deltapoint micros, saw a thread on ar-15 forums or somewhere saying it fit just fine.
I just got my optics ready slide and also installed a Holosun 507K. I can verify Paul’s findings that the Holosun M4x8mm mounting screws are slightly long and will press on the part that sits just below the mounting holes if tightened down securely. Cutting the screws to a 7.1mm length allows them to lock down at the factory recommend 15 inch pounds without binding.
I purchased a wire stripper from Amazon that included an M4 screw cutter so as not to damage the threads ( 8PK-CT009 Multi-Purpose Pliers Crimping Tool Metric Size Wire Cutter Cable Stripper ). Expensive but didn’t want to damage the threads since I couldn’t find any replacement M4 screws that had the same size head ( small countersunk head using a T10 Torx bit ) the standard size torx bit for an M4 screw is a T20 which results in a larger head which doesn’t fit flush in the 507K.
FYI: the separate optics ready slide came without any of the optics cutout plates installed, They were in a separate small plastic bag which also should have contained the 2 required mounting screws. Mine only had 1 screw. Since I was mounting the 507K which came with it’s own screws and didn’t need the adapter plates it wasn’t a big deal. However, if you weren’t going to mount an optic right away or needed to use one of the adapter plates it would have created a PITA.
I suggest that PSA install the blank filler plate on the slide before shipping and just include the 2 adapter plates in the parts bag so as to not create the possibility of a similar error.
