PA-10 with different lower?

It seems the older Gen II’s had an issue with carbine-length buffers and the BCG slamming into the rear of the lower receiver. The fix for is a longer buffer like a spikes tactical H3. From my research PSA “clearanced” out the lower receiver on the newer Gen 3’s near where the extension goes to essentially give it extra room in case it does slam lol? Anyways, the reason I ask all of this is because I am considering using a Noreen lower with my Gen 3 upper.( Since PSA is always OOS) It seems like I might have issues with the BCG slamming unless I change out the buffer? The Noreen would be based off a DPMS GEN-1 so without the additional clearance, do you foresee that being an issue? It seems fitment should be fine.

Just wondering if I should wait for PSA Gen 3 lower to be on the safe side or should I take a chance with the Noreen billet. I’ve seen plenty of evidence they do fit.

You should wait for a PSA lower. With ar10s, there is no industry standard. The Noreen “may” fit, but no guarantee. Also, my Gen 2 has the relief cuts. I wasn’t aware of any slamming unless you used the wrong buffer (like a standard ar15 C buffer in an AR10). You have to use an ar10 buffer that is shorter. PSA did start using an intermediate buffer tube though.

@GamecockOperator can help with more of the generation changes, but what I know is this:

Gen 1: had issues with some 2 stage triggers
Gen 2: fixed the 2 stage triggers and added a cosmetic shelf around top of lower. Some of the later ones had the relief cuts for bcg
Gen 3: relief cuts made permanent

Thanks for the reply. I contacted PSA via Facebook and they state they have " No ETA" on lowers. Which is very frustrating. Seems they’re pumping out plenty of kits but not accounting for the needed lowers. At this point I might just take a risk of the Noreen, sounds like i’ll need to replace my buffer tube. I looked at yesterday. It’s marked " PA-10" appears to be 2:5" in length. It might just be trial and error with mine.

The pa10 tube is the intermediate tube. It will work with the short buffer.
