I was curious if anyone could give me guidance regarding the fitment of an Odin Works O2 Lite DPMS Low 15.5 forend on a PA10 Gen3 rifle. What is needed or will it work at all? Thanks in advance.
PSA uses a proprietary height for their 308 but it is super close to DPMS low. That should work, you will need the correct tools.
Upper vice block
Barrel nut wrench and breaker bar
Allen wrench for gas block set scews
As long as you dont have an FSB that is pinned on your rifle you should be good to go with just that. You will need to remove the old guard, then the gas block and tube, then the barrel nut. Install in reverse order. Make sure to use some aeroshell or other anti seize on the barrel nut. Aeroshell is milspec but i use permatex white lithium wl-9 which you can find at any autoparts store.
Edit: post a pic of your gun.
Installing a BA 20” heavy profile barrel and wanted to change out the forend as well. Just wasn’t sure if I needed that adapter that they advertise.
I dont think you will. PSA’s height is super close to DPMS low.
Thank you for the help! Much appreciated.
I have an Odin foreend on my Gen1 PSA Ar10. It is DPMS low profile, and is almost perfect. you cant really notice that PSA uses a proprietary height with it. I had originally screwed up and bought a High profile handguard. wrote Odin asking about it because where i bought it from was at the time out of DPMS low handguard rails, i asked if i could buy a low adapter barrel nut, as the only difference in the rails is the barrel nuts, one high one low. The company is so good they went ahead and shipped me a DPMS Low barrel nut without any questions for free. talk about a good customer service. I like Odin, Liked it a hell of a lot more after that, and now will buy their products first when i see other things out there that are of equal price. That’s just me though.
anyways… you shouldnt have any issues doing the conversion and it looks like GuitarGUy covered most bases. if not all. Your rifle looks great man. good job!
Yes, PSA receivers are low, any low handguard will work.
