There is no payment for the amnesty and therefore no stamp. It really is that easy. The problem is that the ATF has a long history of changing its mind.
Thatâs why I believe there should be a stamp even if it says $0 on the stamp. And yes they changed their mind anytime they feel like it
The stamp is an actual law that specifies it is $200. They cant change that. Apparently they can only change their thoughts and feelings.
That make you have 2 NFA/GCA items. A regulated(maybe) item/part and an SBR. I chose to surrender my SBA2. and put the upper in one safe and the lower in another safe until Congress/Senate / SCOTUS fine and negate the ATFE/DOJ for violating the Bill of Rights.
There is a $5 other stamp so creating a âamnestyâ stamp shouldnât be a problem
Doesnât affect me either way
That is for the âAny Other Weaponâ category. Remember the NFA was about banning machine guns and small weapons due to the mob. Also, the ATF has no legal authority to make law. They have to enforce what is there. SBRâs do not fall in the âany other weaponâ category.
From the ATF FAQ - https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/undefined/final-rule-2021r-08f-frequently-asked-questions-and-sba-compliance-guide-2/download
"Once the firearm is registered as a short-barreled rifle (SBR) can I remove/change the âstabilizing braceâ or attach an item marketed as a stock? If so, am I required to notify ATF in advance? ⢠Yes, the firearm is registered as an SBR, and you can change out the âbraceâ device or stock for a different brace or stock. You do not need to contact ATF/NFA because changing the brace/stock does not change the configuration of the SBR. However, if the length of the firearm has changed you will need to notify the NFA Division. Final Note: The SBR is not âregisteredâ until an approved Form 1 is received from NFA. The brace cannot be substituted/replaced until that time. "
