I posted a copy of this guide in the Non PSA AR catergory also. I have a lower AR15 build guide with pictures. It lists all of the parts with pictures. You can install a part in the wrong place in your lower such as your lower springs if you aren’tcareful. It explains not only how to install the parts but also in the proper order. You don’t want to scratch or damage parts or have to remove parts so you can install other parts. If you go in order you want have any issues. I also have function checks for most parts to make sure that the part is installed properly and functioning properly. This is a Microsoft Word File. I hope that this guide will be helpful to everyone. Videos are good but for me it is easier to print and follow along or go back to a previous section. Also you can print one out for a friend. I print one out everytime that I build a lower. I mark off the parts and steps when complete.

I have never built an AR, but have been thinking about it. I am an old-school, hard-copy type of guy, so having essentially a check list to go through is a great idea.
Also, I could turn it into a build sheet, writing down the specs of each part, where it came from, and its cost, as you go. I do that with all my replaced gun parts, to have an idea of time and round count, if something fails.
Lol. When I first saw the title I thought it was a guide to 3D print an AR lower, like a Firebolt 2 or something.
Never mind
Hey guys I thought that I would share this with everyone in hopes that it can help more people.
I appreciate you reaching out to me. I don’t mind helping people who want to learn. Most people who build their own AR really don’t understand the mechanics, how the AR really functions and how the different available parts affect each other.
What parts are best to be combined together to make the different calibers and barrel lengths. You can put parts on a stripped lower or upper but do those parts work the best together to make an AR and to make it function properly with reliability and so that it isn’t unnecessarily wearing it’s component’s.
Please don’t take what I am saying as arrogance but simply that I have worked on my own and other people’s firearms for close to 40 years now. I was fortunate to attend schools in both the military and LE.
Right now I am a little busy with some work being done on my house. I have few people’s firearms that I need to tear down, fix and do a deep cleaning on them. And as always I have some of my own handguns and shotguns to upgrade and clean that always seems to be the last that I work on.
Don’t forget about me though. I don’t mind working with one or two people but I shy away from any more people than that at a time. I always try to put safety first. I don’t want someone getting hurt or damaging their weapon because I didn’t catch something that they were doing wrong or they misunderstood something that I said.
I find that people always learn more and have better understanding of the AR when I work one on one with someone. I don’t charge work with someone. I do it because I have always wanted to get people more involved in firearms and so that they can pass that information on to other people. So all that I ask is when I share with you, you do the same to another person who you know.
Also I always build an AR for a specific purpose or purposes. Different style AR fill different roles for the AR like CQB, plinking, target shooting, long range shooting, hunting, home defense or just an all around reliable AR for everyday purposes. So think about what you want this AR to be for because that will determine what components go on your AR to work best for your purpose.
You can also read through and print off the guide that I did for the lower build.

Have a blessed day today.

It is my hope that I can help as many people as possible to get their own AR and to get interested in the shooting sports.
very well put together.
@FitandFinish, I hope that my guide helps you out. I print out a copy everytime I build an AR as a check off list and to document the build.
