PSA 2 Stage Trigger(Garbage)

First off let me say- I really like PSA products. I have lots of them. So……I’ve installed a lot of triggers in my life, that being said I installed a PSA 2 stage trigger in a AR-15. Immediately it felt like junk. Still I went to the range with it. Within 200 rounds the trigger would take ALOT of force to break. There is a delay of when the trigger breaks VS me pulling the trigger. I can literally hold the trigger down and count before it breaks. I will be returning this junk. Thanks.

hmm. kinda curious. Could you show a link to the trigger you bought and maybe a picture of it assembled in your rifle?

Have that one and it works very well.

Interesting. I bought one of those 2-ish years ago just to try it out and love it. I’ve slowly been replacing the milspecs with those. Sorry to the OP that’s having issues.

Did you take it out, then reinstall? Sometimes we ALL goof up and miss something that we didn’t do quite right the first time

No issues with the ones i have.

yeah, that’s the one. Have you triple checked that the springs are in the right place and not damaged? Post a picture, maybe someone will spot a problem that you might have missed or maybe just agree with you that you got a dud and it needs to be replaced.

i absolutely love mine. works great… cant be beat for quality versus price in this one too.

if its getting tighter/ harder to pull sounds to me like a spring is twisting the wrong way somehow.

When i got my first one it came in a rifle carbine that was given to me by psa. jand i am pretty sure theye tuned it, . But you know what? that is perhaps the very best trigger that i have ever felt. And i’m being 100% truthful there.

Thanks for sharing y’all’s experiences with that trigger. I took it out and compared it to another trigger. Looks the same, so idk. I’m just going to return it. Still a PSA fan.

Just an FYI, that specific trigger is a Schmid Brand , sold by PSA. ( And MANY others )
Note the S stamped on the hammer.

Ruger sells the same Schmid, and that one has a odd feeling at times… but all the other Schmid’s have been great.

Sounds like you may have gotten a dud.

FWIW… you might consider the Sabre DLC one… even a lighter pull weight.

I bought a second one that did the same thing. Dub-c’d my work and re-installed as well. No good.
Didn’t feel like jumping through the hoops for to return it so put it back in the container and forgot about it.

I suspected this may have been a manufacturing error. Seeing this seems to indicate I was right.

im sorry to hear that. i’ve never had any trouble with any of my 2 stages from psa. be they schmid made or whatever, they’re great in my opinion.

So I followed the procedure and returned the trigger to PSA. PSA sent me a new one and BAM, it works like butter. So again I’m still a PSA fan and always will be. We are human and make mistakes daily. With all that being said the PSA two stage trigger is awesome for the price.

Besides my Geissele SSA-E triggers, these are my favorites. I bought several at around $50 or $60 a few years ago and still can’t believe what a great trigger it is. Glad you got a new one and it works! I was going to suggest a quick clean and a decent layer of lube on it, but you’re good! Enjoy!

I have 4 of them, great trigger. I have a standard finish Schmidt trigger, not as nice as the DLC trigger PSA sells. IMO one of the better options for the money.

@Rufus I like to have all my triggers feel the same. Do you think all your sabre claws are the same?
