PSA AR10 Mid-length drop in handguard replacement

Hello

I just purchased a PA10 that comes with their Mid-length drop in plastic handguard with the front A2 sight.

I’m trying to find a Mid-length metal quad rail drop in to replace it but keep reading that a AR15 same size handguard won’t fit it??
Can anyone confirm if this is true or a brand to search for please.

Correct. Ar10s use a different size and unfortunately there isnt a standard with AR10s. PSA uses their own proprietary height but it is closest to “DPMS Low”. So when you search look for that height.

I found this one. Can anyone tell me if this will fit the Mid-length PA10 plastic handguard??

Post a pic of what you have. Your endcap is either triangle or circle.

Yah, you’ve got a triangular end cap. That handguard might fit. Be ware though, its really difficult to find a handguard let alone a quad rail that’ll fit a 308. Nothing it streamlined for the 308 ar platform rifle market, so it can be really frustrating trying to find parts that are actually compatible with what you’ve got.

Make sure you measure the length of the plastic handguard you removed to make sure you buy the right length. Also, that says “low profile” but i dont know if they mean DPMS low low profile or DPMS High Low profile. Both types of handguards exist.

Literally just made this mistake with a free float quad rail. I’ve been searching for a compatible quad rail for about 2 years, finally found one, installed on the rifle and saw that the picatinny dosen’t align flush on the top rail. :man_facepalming:

Aren’t all the Mid-length plastic palmetto handguards all the same?

For PSA most likely, but if youre trying to get a quad rail, you need to make sure everything matches up

2 of the 3 reviews on that monstrum rail indicate fitment issues…

Yeah i saw that but none mention a palmetto
