Used a dremel and a small sanding drum to smooth down. Can’t find pics will post later.
Looks pretty darn good @Kiki
How did you retexture it looks like factory!
wheeler wood burner, buy it at lowes around $25. Used small pointed tip. Make very small and shallow impressions over and over, till you get the look you want,
Looks really good ![]()
Stipple the mag release also.
I wish I had the skill, and patience to do this. Looks really good
Yeah it’s a skill that I’ve acquired over many years… Many years ago I used to work at a gun shop and we’d get a lot of trade-ins from police departments glocks, Smith & wessons, etc… And some of these guns look like they went through a war zone… Dropped, dragged, polymer all scratched up… So I learned to stimple…
I guess you can stipple one of these yea?
The description says it’s glass filled polymer.
I ordered one of these 30 minutes ago and was looking at adding some grip tape before I saw these posted pictures.
There’s a online company called OTD defense…they have stipple tips and kits…and youtube videos how to do…
Just remember take your time, small steps till you get comfortable!
Now…to remove the rear hump…anyone?
Also, the edges on the trigger guard are very perpendicular/angular-- nicer on the knuckles to round those over.
That was my 2nd one I did, first was the fde one in the background. I just used a cheap soldering iron I had laying around. I also smoothed the edges under the trigger guard where your finger sits along with the bump on the bottom.
