Psa gf3 is the new dpms anvil?

Discuss…

DPMS is a sister company of PSA. I’m not an AK guy so I don’t know which is which, but it opens the door to a new market of people that have long been DPMS fans.

Interesting .

I think it’s fantastic. My first A.R. 15 was a DPMS . I thought the company was long gone.

The following question is for anyone other than guitar guy since he isn’t an ak guy

So is it the GF3 that is the equivalent of the DPMS anvil?

Edited to reflect question was to the ak community. Not to just guitar guy who isn’t an ak guy

Edit 2. Thanks Josh!

Idk, I’m not an AK guy.

Our parent company bought the DPMS name in the Remington buyout last year. As far as which model is comparable, I’ll have to dig into it. But I’ll see what answers I can get and will share it here as soon as I get it.

Thanks Josh! Great news. Glad to know dpms has been brought back.

They’re working on it. I know there are plans for AR15’s AR10’s and AK’s. But I dont have any other info on it at the moment. I’ll see what I can dig up though.

So the Anvil is the DPMS version of an AK-47. While it might be similar to some of our models, I cant give a proper “this is equal to that” comparison at this time.

Ah ok. Thanks for looking into it :+1:t2:

I am one of those fans. My first AR was a 308 Sportical. Hell of a gun, especially for the price point. Just wish it came with some railestate however that was easily fixed with a MWI quadrail. Kinda wish it had a dust cover too. Other than that can’t complain about a 3/4 MOA AR308 that goes bang every single time (except for some 168 grain match loads I tried) for $750. I love my PSA arms and wish the sister company’s endeavor well.

My first ar ever was a dpms panther. Still have it. Love it still. I don’t mean to segue the AK 47 thread into a DPMS AR thread but I sure hope they bring back the DPMS g2 308 line. I may have to pick up one of those anvils though …

Unfortunately… it didn’t do to well in Rob’s sand test…

I was looking forward to picking one up

Rob’s sand test is probably the most arduous semiautomatic rifle test that I have ever seen ANYONE do. Very few rifles make it through that test without a stoppage. Many of the rifles that malfunction in Rob-Ski’s “Sand-Tornado” still go on to greatness and get Robs recommendation. I don’t own an anvil……but failure during that test…does not make it a “Fail”
Certainly any rifle that performs flawlessly for 90 rounds of the sand Tornados….deserves high praise….but malfunctioning doesn’t make it a fail.

I am a big fan of palmetto state and also dpms.

BUT

Many AK’s, as well as PSAK’s… have ran VERY well through it

Totally agree with you

I’ll stick with the PSA line of AK’s. They do better in Rob Ski’s torture tests.

Yep. PSAK’s have always done great through them… the reason I have a bunch of them in my vault!
