Been looking for the Picatinny Dust Cover for my GF3. Notification that it is in stock. In the 3 minutes from the email arriving to the time I clicked check out, it was gone.
That’s ridiculous.

They sell fast. I went with TWS.
And the TWS works fine with a GF3?
Also color matches ok?
Not sure on the GF3 for color match. If the GF3 uses a standard leaf site and dust cover it will work.
Email notification works after a product has been in stock for an hour. Likely many people got the email and all jumped.
Different note, any issue with it holding zero? I went with a side mount for optics and wondering if I’d prefer the railed dust cover.
Using a Steiner 5x and no issues holding zero.
In stock notifications only are sent if the item is in stock for a certain time period. Usually at least an hour.
I’ve been buying up (like a junkie) H&R M16A1 parts from PSA, especially A1 stripped carry handle uppers grey anodized. No lie, these are true unobtanium. I can’t depend on the in-stock notifications to let me know as these usually sell out in 20 minutes or less. I recommend using a bot to monitor the item page for quick notifications.
I’m using uptimerobot.com as my bot. If you want, PM me and we can chat through setup instructions so you get notifications via phone app and email within a minute of the item being back in stock.
Just a heads up…iirc folks were using bots when the dagger first came out and bragging about it. When PSA found out that didn’t work out so well for them.
I’m not being argumentative, just legitimately curious…why would PSA care as long as the units are moving?
Is it because the bot users were all people and/or dealers trying to resell at a premium?
that’s cool tbh… it wasn’t fair to all the people staring at it every morning just for some reddit jerk to steal them all… i am hesitant to post what i want until after i ordered it, because poof
im waiting for the second pencil upper still, tornado of parts going around, i absolutely love it and fitment is amazing, cannot hear the bcg until it slams forward at the end, very smooth like flying through the air
edit: Yay it shipped! building three amazing carbines with everything i could think of, so basically the same one i always build but with a strike eagle scope
Yep. There have been some issues with coupon codes with other companies also. Esstac recently had a Magpul employee only code for 40% off that got leaked. They honored it for 24hrs and then shut it down. People are crap sometimes.
You think people on Reddit want PSA stuff??? The sub is lined with zenitco, Midwest industries, TWS, and ultimacs. PSA is generally frowned upon because of nagging quality issues. Hence “just as good”
that’s why people at the range get so pissed… lmao… well, i think the reputation has become “even better than” very quickly… spend the exact same amount at psa that you do else where and tell me that’s not true
The day I take firearms advice from anyone on Reddit is the day I unquestionably build the worst piece in my collection. So many better outlets and resources for information out there.
No it isn’t. It’s not even close. On the front page of this forum there is at least a few people needing warranty work. You know whats better than having a lifetime warranty? Having a rifle that doesn’t need it.
PSA is still pretending to have a 100 series rifles. They’re all akm on the inside…
Ya know what’s better than paying extra for an FN machine gun barrel? Getting one standard because that’s what combloc rifles come with. Machine gun barrels. The wasr is cheaper, by a lot… still comes with a better barrel.
How about firing pins that don’t put holes in primers? Or maybe not deviating from the rear bolt design so much that the firing pin doesn’t put holes in primers.
Components? Absolutely better in even rifles like the wasr.
About the only thing PSA does better is fit and finish, those tend to be things PSA will be on top of. But once you get into gf4 and gf5 price you’re not competing with the wasr, you’re competing with WBP, and FB Radom, Both of which are making the best akms ever. Better than the Russians ever did, even towards the end in the 70s.
There’s a reason a used SGL goes for 3k, and a used PSA will go for 600. One of these is significantly higher in quality in terms of build quality, components, and even has the correct parts.
They are not even better than. Or just as good. PSAs are entry level rifles. There’s a reason arsenal, FB, and cugir are doing military contracts and PSA isn’t.
That Reason isn’t what you think it is.
That reason is because Jamin said PSA is for citizens, and not the govt. Several of PSA’s sister companies, including Lead Star and DPMS do indeed do local .gov contracts. PSA does not, but it also has a cage code.
“Just as good” was a reference actually to Giessele magazines. When Bill introduced them they were the same mags PSA sells for $8.99, yet G had them for $25 iirc. Only difference was the floor plate. Bill and Jamin are friends and grew up near each other.
