Crapping on PSA?

Who is this guy?

As soon as I hear the words “duty grade” I know it’s someone that just automatically thinks “more expensive = better” and tune them out completely. It’s a meaningless made-up term that’s only somehow surfaced in the past few years, just like “fighting rifle”.

If car marketing acted like gun marketing, people would be brainwashed into truly believing a Corolla would blow up in the middle of the street and isn’t fit whatsoever for getting you to work and the grocery store, you need a Lexus for that and there’s no excuse for going with the cheaper transportation when “it’s literally your life you’re trusting that cheap car to” and “I guess your life isn’t worth spending the extra.”

There is a psychological factor to people assuming Colt, Aero, YHM, etc are just so much better, is due to what is called initiation factor. They spent a lot more money and thus cannot allow their ego to accept that they spent more than they needed to. Are there higher quality parts? Absolutely, Criterion, Faxon, barrels, but are you going to the range a few times a year, or are you going to the Tactical Games every weekend? All manufacturers have parts failures. 100% of them. Unfortunately, it is a financial decision for marketing bro’s, ( the bearded tatted tactical crew) to bash anything other than their sponsor. If we hear a person bad mouth a PSA part, it appears they are doing it for 2 reasons: 1. to show out to their bro’s, 2. to appease their sponsor.

I had Colt issued M16A2 that fired on safe, that would run blanks, but FTF live ammo. I had an M16( no A, ) that was rebuilt and worked over and ran great. I was just a MI Analyst, so I was never issued the top tier stuff. I have owned Rock River, Colt HBAR, Ruger, and I sold them. I have a custom built 3 gun AR, but I choose my basic PSA Freedom stainless rifle. it runs. it does shift point of impact after 100’s of rounds in rapid succession and I know that about it. Could I afford a DD? Sure. I also could have bought a Raptor, but I only needed an STX with a tow package. I saved $50k and I can pull 10k trailer, and when just driving, it is comfortable and gets great mileage. Some people just need to brag about what they spent, brand name, etc. It is their EGO driving their mouth. Remind people that a PSA owned company, machined Aero lowers for years. I know about foundries, metallurgy, etc. In the end. I choose to buy from a Veteran owned company, supporting America’s citizens.

The thing that kills me is that everyone will say the BCG is the heart of the rifle and basically what matters the most. PSA uses (and owns) Toolcraft BCGs. Toolcraft makes carriers, they source their bolts and from all accounts they’re top tier. Any reviews you see on outside sites of Toolcraft BCGs are overwhelmingly positive. They also use Microbest in a couple applications. Same thing, almost universally positive feedback on them.

Yet, there’s supposedly so many problems with PSA rifles and they’re not “suited” for serious use. Doesn’t pass the sniff test.

If I had to guess, every BCG from DD, BCM, SOLGW, etc is a Toolcraft or Microbest. Probably a ton of others too.

That’s not even getting into the fact there’s only so many forges out there and most of those companies do not own one of them.

PSA barrels always perform extremely well in durability and accuracy tests, but people will make up every excuse to tell you they can’t hold up. Even though if you’ve somehow convinced yourself you can’t deal with a PSA barrel, you can get a PSA rifle with a FN, which, again, are almost universally well respected and positively reviewed. So you get a rifle with a good BCG and a great barrel, but somehow it’s not suitable and you should’ve spent 2-3x much on a BCM that most likely uses the exact same BCG and does not have an objectively better barrel.

I’ve also fired quite a few mil-spec triggers, and there aren’t many out there better than the PSA EPT. It’s not a fancy race trigger, but compare it directly to any non name brand milspec and you won’t find a better one.

Ever since the Sabre has come out, some of these guys have begrudgingly admitted they’re “mid tier.” No, the basic PSA rifle is “mid tier” by any and all accounts, the Sabre gives you a premium trigger, premium buffer/extractor springs, premium CH, safety/pin/ambi control upgrades, the top FN barrels, and great furniture (with options.) For $8-1200.

Basically, the BS meter is overflowing. Man the lifeboat.

oh my god, he’s saying a duty weapon is for use in a red dawn situation or when the chinese are falling out of the sky… . dude’s a idiot, especially for what he said about psa. if he only knew who makes parts for who…

  1. PSA doesnt cut corners at all. if they did they wouldnt be the largest gun shop in the united states. and then he says theyre good for the money and not a bad starting point that it will last at least 5000 rounds but their not good… what a moron. PSA makes the prices low by cutting out the middleman. they own everything so they dont have to send out to the distributors when they sell direct to the customer.

  2. this guy is a fudd. he’s not trying to trash psa but every word out of his mouth is trashing psa, he even takes swipes at jamin in his video. now he’s saying that PSA guns cant take all sorts of 223 or 5.56 ammo, ugh…
im burned out on complaining about him just listing to him… hes clueless. he really just doesnt know what hes talking about.

where’d you find this fudd??? ive no idea who he is but i think hes given me autism

i shoulda turned it off already. i wish i did… but its a trainwreck… hes said that psa’s bolts break and their unreliable. .lolol

his name is : m26_Lemon_Grenade

m26_Lemon_Grenade and he has 10.8K subscribers im so surprised hes been able to get that much. hes slamming toolcraft as a bcg being garbage. omg. its a trainwreck i cant stop listening to.

this clown disagrees with you… he states they’re horrible, and he also states the FN barrels are nothing better than something that can last 30k more rounds… … i just cant believe how much is wrong in this video… im not the smartest man but i know an idiot when i see one.

lifeboats have been gone for htis guy and he’s the last man on the titanic at this point…
lol.oh man, i need to go take my bloodpressure meds now ROTFL

one last thing, this poor guy was a marine, and he served in iraq. im a big supporter of our guys who served… but this guy is so far out of touch its not even funny. I thank him for his service, but he needs to find a new job than youtube when his info is not factual.

Agreed. I support everyone that served, naturally. But I can’t stand when some try and exploit their time in, and sell themselves as firearms brand experts. I know for what it seems to me, countless people that spent plenty of time in Iraq and Afghanistan doing serious “stuff”, and none seem to have issues trusting their PSA’s. And some of these guys have Knights rifles right alongside their PSA’s. Why others have to do the brand bashing or civvie in camo bashing, is beyond me and it’s lame

Welp that’s it. I’m sold. I’m taking my PSA guns to the chop shop, melt them down and make some affordable butt plugs to sell to the
Imadouchehearmeroar community. :joy:

agreed… heck i agree with all of your post actually…

and then what… send them to him??? lololol

I don’t know that guy. I’m sure he is a good person. BUT he sure sounds like he had an axe to grind. OR his girl left him, his dog left him and he ran out of beer so he is having a bad hair day. Whatevs I’ll be shooting my PSA rifle and busy enjoying life :+1:t2:

Had all of that and more. Still no reason to be a dink. No woman, no dog, probably drink too much beer, but hey, still got a full head of flow. How bad can it be?

I’m doing pretty good in the hair department too………no greys at all, even after raising 4 kids. Problem is the hair jumps ship before it has a chance to turn grey

Fudds being fudd YE NEED SEVEN ROUNDS

IMO-PSA reminds me of Sears Craftsman Tools back in the day. If a Sears Craftsman Tool broke whatever the reason it got replaced no questions asked because of it’s Quality and the lifetime warranty.

I thought the criticism was a complaint rather than finding a solution by using the PSA lifetime warranty.

Still as a shooter do the Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services, clean lubricate and check for function and this firearm will more than likely outlast the shooter.

This part drives me nuts. I don’t care what firearm you get or what brand it is, INSPECT IT. Take it apart. Check all the parts. Make sure the screws are tight. Get out your go/no go gauges. Clean it. Lube it. Put it back together. Check the sights. Function check and dry fire.

If you’re not doing all that at an absolute minimum, any problems are partially on you. And no, that isn’t something you shouldn’t have to do because you “paid a premium” or something you only “have to do on cheap stuff.”

Who the (censored) takes a gun right out of the box and just goes and fires it a ton? Blows my mind.

you’re 100% right man. I think people dont understand they have to do that. (or should rather)

Looks like I started a firestorm!

just a little lol

I get really worked up about stuff like this. Not just because I like PSA, but because the gun marketing space is ridiculous and completely dishonest.

There’s a ton of sourcing, rebranding, and price gouging going on as it is. Then, you have youtube being full of “experts” like that fool. And even worse, things like paid reviews, sponsorships, kickbacks, you name it.

The only person who’s word I’ve taken as truth recently is Jamin’s when he said a lot of companies are basically stealing from us as consumers. When you really think about that, it starts to become much clearer which those are.

me too… but mostly cause its lies, and they dont know what they’re talking about… heck there are only like 5 forges that produce the uppers and lowers to be milled, and folks think that they dont make parts for anyone other than their own stuff, they’re delusional.

i knew this guy was a fudd when h e said negative things about Jamin on his video and having to turn it off cause of all the garbage he was speaking. your right about what Jamin said. so many folks know absolutly nothing about the industry, and that includes me, as i only have a very small view on some things that ive been told by select few folks… i like to think im more informed than some others, because of who tells me things. but i could be wrong… who knows.
