The past two years has seen some of the largest spikes in new gun ownership in recent history. With that we know there are a lot of new gun owners coming into our community and we want to make sure they are properly educated when it comes to firearms. One way I am hoping to help is through videos such as this one. In the coming weeks we will be uploading videos targeted at you the beginner, the veteran, and the enthusiast. My goal is to not only educate but to answer some of the most common questions we see. Some may be pretty basic, while others will hopefully educate even the most seasoned firearms owner. In fact, the comments and suggestions we see on this forum will end up being one of our main resources for the content of these videos. So if you have a question, be it about a product, assembly, history, or even about how we manufacture our firearms ask it. There are many knowledgeable people on this forum who are here to help our community grow. And who knows maybe your question will end up getting a video made about it.
So let’s begin, one of the most common questions we get on the website is “How do I take my Bolt Carrier Group apart?” In this video we are going to show you just that and even throw in a few cleaning tips to make sure your PA-15 keeps running at its best.
Okay don’t rake the new guy over the coals but this is the same for all AR-15s right? I have an bushmaster that I recently picked up second hand that I’ve never shot and would like to make sure that I can do basic maintenance on it. PA-15 is an AR-15 right?
Welcome to the group! You are correct, the PA-15 is just our model of the AR-15. I would encourage you to check out these other blog posts as they will give you a complete walkthrough of how to clean your AR and how it’s put together.
Welcome to the PSA community! Folks here are usually quite understanding/ tolerant of questions from new owners/builders. Your Bushmaster BCG probably looks exactly the same as the PSA’s. Don’t hesitate to ask for info here, there’s a wealth of it and most are more than happy to provide. Cheers.
