Now we need 8mm kurz ammo from aac
How cool
I watched this last night and was withholding comment.
Like any weapons man worth his salt. The Stg44 , MP43 or 44 / is a Holy Grail type weapon.
I have the .22LR version from GSG all dolled up with the Claw Style Scope mount , as it was as close as it gets at the time.
My only reservations are the costs of the previous groups attempt , and it still never got off the ground.
This one will also deviate from the original design just enough to make it a near Clone… as in not as exacting as that of the looks of a PSA AR or AK’s for the domestic market.
Lastly…the absence of an offering in the original 8mm Kurz ( 7.92x33mm) is moderately disappointing , yet logistically understandable. We can only hope it will come with time.
I do also have concerns about PSA’s ability to pull this off without huge growing pains, thus leading them to dropping it like a Hot Fricking Rock and with it logistical and technical support.
I say this from reading thread after thread of issues with AR’s , AK’s Daggers and Rocks… and by comparison to the Sturmgewehr , if only a copy , they are comparitive childs play. This is deep and uncharted waters for any gun maker.
I respect the reach they are attempting…and Cost will be the driver on me taking a gamble on one.
Best of Luck on this.
Hmm i thought he said it was going to be offered in 8mm kurz along with 556 300bo and 762.
You are correct Bernie…it is.
This was Not the same video I watched which spoke otherwise.
I hope the detail of " We are Attempting" to do thus and such in this video stands out …this is certainly not going to be a Go To Defense weapon from the start. Caution to those with the bucks and that need.
Seems to me the original MSRP on the HMG version was $1,699.99 , I’d expect the PSA involvement of getting this to market will push this into the $1,800.00 to $2,000.00 dollar range easily.
This will be offered in 8mm Kurz
I certainly applaud the effort being put forth on this.
PSA is obviously not worried or intimidated in the least about any Assault Weapons bans , or they’d not be making interesting investments like this . I salute you. Fear is for the weak.
I can’t say I’m excited about the " Battlefield" logo brand being placed on the Receiver. This is tacky along the lines of Rock Island Armory’s early 1911’s with the Billboard markings on their slides. They eventually listened to their customers and dropped it.
I hope PSA drops this loud and pointless branding before full scale retail production hits high gear. Things like that belong on Caps and T-Shirts , not expensive Firearms.
no, cause it wont fire 8mm kurz, itll fire 5.56 ![]()
my bad on the caliber alone, i hadnt read the whole thread and hadnt noticed that anthony had posted. Im so excited about the battlefield line i could nearly pee. ![]()
that said, I’ll take mine in 5.56, and hopefully without the billboard logo as well. Unlike @fastford196928 , i do not have the same misgivings about PSA being able to pull it off. I know they can, and will. I surely hope that it is within a price point that i am able to swing. it will go perfectly with my MP40 that i have from ATI/GSG in 9mm.
Eventually I’d like to have working legal copies of every WWII battlefield firearms, that would be awesome!! well at least copies of the ones i couldnt get real ones of at least. lol
Pulling it Off and Growing Pains are Two seperate animals.
PSA always seems to experience Growing Pains , even within their most popular products. This is the nature of the beast at times.
This particular weapon is a quantum leap from any usual PSA offerings. The Stg44 will safely be double the price of what the average PSA buyer is accustomed to paying for something.
This isn’t a bargain $500 AR…or an $800 AK. Folks plunking down , let’s say $2000.00 for a Niche Collector Style rifle will be expecting the best…not spending hours on end at the Wailing Wall talking about Bent this , Broke that and Nobody answers my phone calls or emails.
If PSA is going to Operate at this price level…they will have to Produce across the board at that level…or it will not be sustainable.
i have full confidence they can pull that off at that price point, but honestly 2k would be more than i want to spend on it. 1600 or so would be bargain pricing to me… 2k would be msrp… and i can see their blow out sales pricing get down to 1700 ish maybe 1600 ish… so a guy can dream.
as for testing, if you knew how much testing goes into the stuff they do already you would wonder how issues still come up. i know i wonder it. I have faith that the years of growth and expansion has taught them many lessons that they have definately learned from. of course i am always the biased fan of PSA so what do i know.
ok, and to answer some of your other questions i did some digging and found this interview. it answers a lot of questions in cluding when produced… etc…
he says they will be shipping this year, and price is slightly north of 2k.
enjoy.hill & mac / PSA STG
Oh. I’m a Huge Fan of PSA… the Debit Card Statements over the last 7.5 years is alarming.
A Fan and a Blind follower are not one in the same.
I’m a fan and to be honest if this same situation popped up on a Colt, Glock or Springfield Armory website? I’d have exactly the same Note for Note concerns and initial product reservations.
However. The tales at the Wailing Wall of this board is telling as to PSA’s quality control at times.
The endless threads on defects here ad naseum is terrible. The Testing must not be all that and a bag of chips when things produced for years still fall short.
Myself. My PSA buys are usually limited to items I cherry pick, never Complete weapons . I prefer to Roll my Own as my standards exceed that of a production worker making a living wage.
I think you are kidding yourself to think these Rifles will come without flaws initially. You are also hitting on something strong to assume the prices will be below what the previous group couldn’t make a go of.
Yes. I get they and the production side had their legal issues, I followed that saga as much as was publically made available.
Kool Aid isnt on my menu at this house.
oh trust me the kool aid is and has been flowing here for 12 years. and im not ashamed to admit it.
granted there have been and most likely will be issues with some releases in the future as there have been in the past. however i dont think you watched that last video i posted before you did your last post. It cleared up the pricepoint, as well as the fact that PSA bought the Hill& Mac company who had developed all of this to begin with before they had that unfortunate lawsuit and didnt produce their version, but because all the legwork for development was done, im sure itll be pretty solid at release date. especially since they’re talking about being on the shelf by the end of the year. they did say that pricing will be north of 2k, which to me is high, but you gotta pay to play i suppose… maybe i’ll sell something so i can afford this if it is that high.
I dont blame you with the initial reservations, im thta way with cars, i’ll never buy the first year of a car model because of the inevitability of there being problmes with the first and sometimes second years of them before they are all shaken out. Lately i’ve thought about not buying immediate releases from PSA… but not for the fear of it not working, but because if i wait, past release, i can jump in on some awesome deals like the pistol and 10 mag deals they run for daggers, etc. more for my money that way.
i like to cherry pick my ar’s for much of the same reason. AK’s are just too much a pain in the ■■■ to build without the jigs and tools for it and while i had built one, with a friend and his jigs and tools, i hope to never have to do that again lol. building my 1911s and my daggers are not really an issue, just gotta have patience out the rear and a lot of filing for the 1911s… the daggers/glocks are simple so thats not an issue for me to build either. so yea, im with you there.
I’ll hope that when they release the StG there wont be any growing pains with the product. I know with the Dagger the initial problems were due to a supplier and a part from them, but still it shouldnt have happened even in the middle of Covid.
you have one on me as i didnt follow the legal issues of Hill&Mac as i didnt even know about them until this with PSA.
either way im super excited, and wonder what other military type firearms tehy plan to develop in this new Battlefield group they are producing.
Just heard the rumors . . . looks like it’s true Caliber swap with just a barrel, mag & BCG change. . . sweet!
Im sold. Definitely getting one.
yeah i agree that is pretty awesome. it’ll go nicely next to my .22 caliber version from ATI. I’m very excited about it.
I agree that the forum here appears to be a ***** bag dumping ground at times as well. I am appreciative that they let peeps vent here, the good and the bad get the opportunity to be aired. But, I’m a fan of statistics and reality. I’ll use the Rock as an example. The serial # on the latest one I have seen and used is 20K plus and I’ve read IIRC maybe 2 legitimate gripes here that didn’t involve their modifying the platform or nit-noid stuff that gets better with proper break-in.
They are actively trying to address the labor shortage situation when it comes to CS to include work from home. That’s a nation-wide problem. I feel like you’re letting their transparency skew what they’re actually accomplishing. JMHO
It seems like any look at a companies roll out problems has to include a look at their response to the problems.
Clearly I have not kept up on EVERY problem with every PSA rollout.
But the ones I have. . . the response to a problem found in rollout seems to be timely and positive in nature.
The PSA arms I have seem robust and after a short break in not at all finnicky. That seems like quite a bit at the Blue Collar affordable price they are offered.
