PSAK-47 GF5 Recoil Spring Binding

So here are some photos of the areas I needed to file and polish. The cast recoil spring guide “button” needed the underside cleaned up. Specifically the cylinder where the guide wires are attached as well as the ramp. Round needle file and Dremel seemed to work okay. I didn’t need to take much off. Just cleaning the casting up.

I really didn’t do much to the rear of the bolt carrier. You can still see some of the deep gouges from the “button”. I used a round file to knock out the displaced material. Then I ran an ultra fine ball hone and a Dremel polishing wheel. Not perfect but it’s an AK.

Unfortunately, no before pictures.

Adding an AK buffer would have been a better option. They help with felt recoil also.

I looked at those, seems like many people have had success with reducing recoil and some gas back towards the shooter. I had one in my cart… the engineer in me couldn’t settle for a bandaid fix though.

KNS piston is what you’re looking for. It’s not perfect, like an adjustable block, but it’s 95% of what a block can do. It’s easier to install, and uninstall though.

I think the akm one is AGP-A-10L
