A most excellent idea!

:rofl::+1:

It took me so long to finish my undergrad I literally had to have shoulder surgery by the time I graduated! Granted working for my Uncle Sam set the problem in motion, but lugging that mass of books around for a decade plus put the tissue damage into high gear.

Ordered an edc pack from a small veteran owned business on amazon. Came with a holster as well. When it gets here ill give you a review on it. Pretty reasonable overall @ 43 bucks

Buddy has psa rifle case, 2 of them maybe. They’re pretty sweet and can fit hella stuff in there. Usually a rifle case if I go to the range, just a standard black single, shape screams gun tho. I use this going out to old tracks outside of town. Marlboro miles baby.

I remember collecting those points a long time ago.
I think @California_Refugee has one also.

Oh what a time that was. I’ve never smoked personally, but worked at GM at the time where many others did. Folks were digging through trash bins and dumpsters to clip “Marlboro Miles” off cigarette packs. :nauseated_face: One of them was a guy I was friends with. I never took part in the dumpster diving, but would give him my mother-in-law’s spent packs. He ended up getting a ton of stuff and gave me a few things like a t-shirt and maybe a Velcro wallet -can’t recall exactly.

My reason behind the sling pack is A: i didnt wanna have to mess with a holster to clunk around everywhere…did that for the past 3 years with a sig m18 on a dropleg…and B: i keep range data on all my weapons on a tablet as well as load data and i can carry every little bit of edc gear i need in this thing. Would definitely be handy and will stay in my truck

I solved that problem by carrying two book bags once it looked like strap on my Jansport was getting stressed. My second bag was some military item gotten at a yard sale. It was green heavy canvas with a handle and a rubber liner that tucked in around the sides, like maybe a rain flap. I assumed maybe it was a tool bag but it had no interior compartments. Had two canvas straps to cinch down and keep the contents snug. Very handy. So that’s my recommendation: when one book bag isn’t enough, carry a second rather than jam in more stuff and overload your shoulder. :smile:

I think this is the bag, or very similar, described as a Vietnam-era M56 gear bag:

Well im now using a cannae legion pack with admin and ifak until my edc pack gets here. My laptop fits in and i put a 10x12 plate in as well. Carried it in afghanistan and makes one heck of an assault pack

years ago PSA had their own pistol range bag. While i cannot find the one i have online any more, I found one very similar. the differences i can see right off the top is that mine is black and also has the PSA logo embroidered in the side of it where this one does not and is made and branded by 5.11 tactical. I think i paid 49.99 for it, like i said its been a long time. If i get time, i’ll snap a few photos of it, but until i do, this link will give you a basic idea of what i have basically. I like it a lot, and the main compartment has velcro padded wall dividers so i can make individual sections for different items, or i can remove them entirely.

Range Bag similar to my PSA one.
