Let me know how it runs for you! I haven’t had a chance to shoot any of mine yet.
How did you get the dark alley comp timed correctly?
o-ring so its easy to do
The rubber O Ring at the bottom of the thread protector threads gives plenty of tension when screwing down the compensator allowing perfect timing. The Dark Alley Comp itself comes with an O Ring for that purpose but the original PSA O Ring for the thread protector works just as well.
Look at Bobby post “ Range Time With The Rock “ for his answer to my similar question and a couple videos of him shooting it with the Comp.

I might need to switch to the other o-ring then. Mine starts to tighten right after it points straight up, and I can only get a half turn out of it before I can’t turn it anymore. Would it hurt to stack the o-rings?
You might try switching o rings. I’m not sure if there is sufficient space to stack anothe o ring on top of the original one because of the threads themselves.
So did you hit the range yet? ![]()
Annnd… it’s on the way.
Good choice!
Welcome to the forum
@godfatherems
just received my 5.7 AAC shipment…nice looking cartridge’s…one issue seems they have little growing pain cause the carton’s printing renders three of five printed sides upside down when opening it. obviously no big deal but Federal and Fiocchi use the same packaging and have it correct. Devils in the detail now let’s hope it shoots!
Just wondering if there’s a consensus on a ideal zero for the Rock?
FN 5.7X28MM: THE LITTLE CARTRIDGE THAT COULD
NOVEMBER 14, 2022 By Kurt Martonik
The FN 5.7, or 5.7x28mm, cartridge has seen a resurgence in popularity since its release in 1990 and subsequent limited applications. This little cartridge is known for its armor-penetrating abilities, flat trajectory, and high velocity out of a pistol-length barrel. The FN 5.7 has better range, accuracy, and terminal performance than the 9Ă—19 Parabellum that it was trying to replace for NATO forces once upon a time.
This cartridge is one of the most beloved — and hated — in existence today. Some experts claim it is perfect for self-defense, while others challenge those statements vehemently and regard it the same way they would a rimfire round. Despite the many arguments had over the cartridge, production continues as more and more firearms are being manufactured to fire it.
For the majority of the FN 5.7’s existence, Fabrique Nationale (FN) was the only maker of firearms chambered for this cartridge. A recent trend has brought the 5.7x28mm back in the spotlight as companies like Ruger, Kel-Tec, and Palmetto State Armory introduce pistols and pistol caliber carbines (PCCs) for the little FN 5.7, often with high capacities…
I personally love the 5.7.
Fragile neck of the casing prevents reloading? Don’t tell anyone that has been reloading it for the last decade. ![]()
