Hi everyone, I an getting ready to purchase this AR15:
PSA 16" MID-LENGTH 5.56 NATO 1/7 NITRIDE 13.5" LIGHTWEIGHT M-LOK MOE EPT RIFLE W/MBUS SIGHT SET
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-13-5-lightweight-m-lok-moe-ept-rifle-w-mbus-sight-set3.html
It will primarily be used for Home Defense/SHTF. Any recommendations for a red dot please? I do not have the best eye sight (older w/glasses).
If I am doing something wrong in posting this, please tell me. I just thought I would ask the people most familiar with PSA,
Thanks.
Sig Romeo5.

Add a streamlight protac and call it a day.

A light is more important than a red dot IMO. If you cant see clearly what you are aiming at you shouldnt be shooting.

Thanks. I was reading here or somewhere that the romeo7 was more eyesight friendly. Thoughts?

I prefer the larger lens of the Romeo 7, I have two of them. My distance vision is good, but wear reading glasses.
I mounted my Romeo 5 on my son’s 12ga.
If you go for the Romeo 7, make sure it’s NOT the 7S. They’re not the same…
The Romeo 5 is 20mm, the 7S is 22mm, and the Romeo 7 is 30mm.

If you don’t have the best eyesight, like you have problems seeing red dots as dots, rather than streaks, I’d suggest the primary arms Cyclops Gen II. You can adjust the diaptor to your eye and it’s very durable, long battery life if you want illumination and the reticle is etched, so you don’t need the illumination. $~300 but worth the money. Mind the parallax.
I would also suggest a light of some sort, streamlight HLXs are good and cheap, modlites are the brightest, then for something a little cheaper, but still high quality, you cannot go wrong with an arasaka. I generally opt for the bigger, brighter lights unless the space cannot be spared, longer battery life with an 18650.

Thank you for your help and your answers. Ordering today!
+1……ThatGuy is correct! I too am suffering from old age….and my red dot optics now look more like a comet or a star cluster….rather than a defined dot.
I bought a Primary Arms SLx 1X MicroPrism with Red Illuminated ACSS Cyclops Gen 2 Reticle
It has a diopter….just like a Scope that allows you to adjust it for your vision. Now I can shoot without my glasses and see sharply……as if I was young again.
Since buying it…I have been replacing all my red dots with the PA SLX micro prism red dots.
If your suffering from age related vision……that PA SLX is the solution !
