Yeah I’m going to be getting one also. I love that PSA is bringing their SHOT concepts out to production. I bet with a TLR9 this will fit in my 10mm doublestack 1911 holster.
yeah i bet it will fit your holster too. both being double stacks should be interchangable with the tlr9
Do we know if it will come in different barrel lengths?
We dont know any further info.
welcome to the forums @rooster6531 .. glad to have you Caleb. please hang around and enjoy yourself.. we’re not sure if it’ll be just the 5 inch or other barrel lengths initially.. but id bet to start it will be the standard 5" length
Last update video they were hoping to have it out “by the end of the year”. I’m still hoping it’ll launch within the next 30 days but I’m concerned that the quote “end of the year” could actually mean fiscal year or the year 2026.
I don’t own a 2011 yet but I will if PSA can get the price below $2K AFTER taxes/shipping/FFL fee (so like a $1,799 starting price).
None of the cheap $600-$1200 alternatives (Tisas/Mac 9, Girsan, AF Romulus, LFA Apollo, SA Prodigy) interest me since there’s a significant amount of people who have had to tinker with/tune them to get them to run reliably.
im pretty sure that the psa offering of the 2011 will be well below 1500.. the springfield offering of the Prodigy ive shot of a fellow MOderatos here and it shot wonderfully. I dont recall if he had any issues out of the box or not, but when he let myself and other mods fire it, well lets say it shot like a dream cause it did. I was amazed at how well it did and it actually turned me on to 2011s, as i was totally against any double stack 1911 format at all before then.
As for the PSA 2011, we may be lucky enough to get it around this black friday who knows. PSA has been known to want to make alot of noise around black friday… and thus as such may include new product releases… im hoping for a few theyve been working on coming out here in the next couple of weeks to be honest… but thats only based on my hopes, no real information to base that wish on from PSA at all. so here’s to hoping!
Can I preorder?
No. PSA only does pre-orders on ar15 meme lowers.
If this thing is above $2,000 it will be a horrible mistake. Above $2,000 I’m just going to buy a staccato or Kimber 2k11.. I love psa but I’m not buying their stuff if I want high end expensive stuff. I would buy one of these for $1,200 to $1,500 to carry and keep from losing or wear and tear on my staccato that I know is better quality. Hope they don’t forget their place in the market when they price this thing
Pre-release and you already know the quality"? Interesting.
Rumor price is around $1700. We won’t know facts until it is released.
Wow 1700? Well don’t doubt it, the other Saber is way over priced also. But if it sells good on them. Saber handguns, and rifles are way over priced to me. Damn near HK cost and HK is well HK.
So price and brand name = quality. Yet you throw Kimber out there as something you’d prefer. You’re exactly the kind of buyer Staccato loves.
Thats rumor. We have nothing official.
Kimbers 2k11 is great though. Not their 1911’s sure but the 2k11 is awesome. And usually better quality guns come with a heavier price tag. Based on psa’s track record they do not produce the same quality firearms as the other options in similar categories. So I’m anticipating the outcome based on recurring historical patterns. If they produce a lower quality 2011 which they’re apt to do but want $2k+ for it it’s going to be a disaster
Based on their track record I’m anticipating an inferior quality. Let’s be honest, psa produces firearms for a more budget minded market and the sacrifice on quality to do that. Doesn’t mean psa sucks or that they’re a bad company. They do something the market needs. But let’s be honest
When they first started out I wouldn’t disagree with you. Last 5-10 years I find your statements baseless. Let’s be honest.
Zack, welcome to the forum first of all. Secondly i agree completely. at the end of the day, regardless of how nice it is, its still a PSA gun.. Sabre level or not, its still PSA and as a budget leader it’ll have to be priced below 2k. realistically i can see this priced on the high end at 1600. i’d prefer to see it below 1200 but thats just me. time will tell though as they havent released any pricing information at all as of yet.
this statement is premature in my book.. as its not out yet, and we dont know that the quality will be sub staccato or not. PSA has been surprising a lot of folks as of late with quality and i’m also in that boat… just like that dang SAbre AK totally surprised me.. i had no idea i’d fall in love with that rifle so much but its quality is amazing. needless to say, its premature to say that about the quality of anything thats not yet produced.
i see your logic and can agree with why you resulted at that answer. that said, PSA has been surprisng folks with their QC with the sabre line, and the quality for the dollar so to speak. thats all good and all, but when is the last time you have bought a PSA item and thought it was severly over priced for what it is. I"ve never known PSA to price a firearm at a price that is listed way over what that item would appear to be worth in my eyes… at least thats just me.
I Have a Sabre Dagger for instance. on that gun i cannot find ANY sacrifice for quality. that said, the price is higher than the dagger for sure… but its still way below buying a Glock that has been treated to the same treatment that Dagger had been ran through by the factory. SO again, I think its way premature to anticipate inferior quality from them at this time. When was the last time you bought anything from the sabre line new?
I’d agree completley.
