@perryorth can answer your questions.
Just changed to RTB insurance.
What was it that made you change coverage? If you donāt mind sharing.
I also signed up for RTB - have been wanting to get something like this for a while. This forum has been helpful, especially now that we have a contact (@perryorth) to bother with questions ![]()
One little issue I had: I wanted to pay the full year rather than monthly. Didnāt see any such option but enrolled anyway.
$14 less a month and never able to acess uscca included stuff. Training videos, no instructors near me 2 years ago last time I was able to get on their site. The quarterly magazine seemed like 50% adds for guns or gear and not great content.
You can pay yearly! on the checkout page, it defaults to the monthly option but you can select yearly. it is actually at the top of the page once it gives you the options!!! @nvpurk

Do you all think it would beneficial to interview folks that have experienced an incident with our coverage and then publicly share the video so they can tell the country the great service we provide?
Absolutely. Seeing and hearing a actual insured who has personally befitted from having used the coverage helps (paint a picture) for others.
@perryorth
I second what @Jammo wrote.
Iāve personally done much resarch on post incident court cases. I know many are not well informed on how a prosecutor will try to paint a good guy in a self-defense use of force as the bad guy.
I belive anyone who carries, needs to see how things go in the legal aspect and what to expect based on how much a program such as yours helps.
One case that has always stuck out, Massad Ayoob wrote up. Plantif used a 10mm but, got hammered by the prosecutor over it being such a deadly round, ultimately being convicted of excessive force. I belive this case was late 1980ās. Had an expert whitness been involved⦠Ayoob mentioned the 10mm at the time, was an optional carry calliber for Scotsdale, AZ, PD SWAT officers.
I was looking into switch to RTB from uscca. Not for any particular reasons. Well, cost, Iām at top level with uscca but donāt use any of the top tier things and the magazine Iāve lost interest in. March it goes for renewal but imma drop them and switch
Hey everyone - not sure how much you all have read about the āgun insuranceā mandate that is going on in San Jose but one of our good affiliates wrote an article on it! Would love for you all to check it out and send us your thoughts.
Perry,
The article read well.
Iām no lawyer but, the San JosĆ© city ordinace in my, lay person understanding:
1 - violates text history and tradition of the 2nd Amendment, imposing fees and requiring insurance that most sensible gun owners already have (no law to tell legal gunowners to get insurance is my point.)
2 - creates a second class citizen (another legal issue) by requring private gun owners to get this insurance then, exempting law enforcement from the same requirement.
The options listed in the article for those not able to flee this tyranical city were well worded and fairly broad, to include many options.
Overall
on the article and thank you for sharing.
