Severe weather

Laurens Electric co-op says 63000 without power. Prepare for a multi-day outage. Had to come all the way to Greenville to find 2 blocks with power on Woodruff Rd.

The major power lines 1/2 mile from me are all down. Multiple crews working to get them back up. About a 1 mile stretch of lines down.

I’m trying to post drone footage, but the file is too large. Here’s my neighbor across the street.

I had to go to Chapin this morning and it was like that all over the place from the interstate through Ballentine and up to Chapin. I had to make about 5 detours

Wow!

Revised outages

So far windy and occasional rail in southeastern WV. At least the drought is ended, about six inches of rain so far since Monday. Just occasional brief flickers with electrical power.

What are the chances

And we finally have power again. 16 hrs without, not too bad. Thankful for the crews working.

Still no power on Main St Fountain Inn. Have power at the house but no internet still.

Here’s what LEC is saying:

LEC; Make plans some outages will persist well into next week. Widespread catastrophic damage to grid. More crews from Ohio and Fla arriving tonight to help.

The mountains got hammered. Whole towns gone.

Family and friends in Georgia were told maybe Tuesday for power close to the coast and the ones more inland it could be two weeks.
I have some family taking them water and generators.

My nephew didn’t evacuate, car is totaled. He’s up in Waynesville NC.

Get Starlink @Rufus

Our power is still out, now going into day 4. Friday night one of power line repair crews hit and broke the water main feeding my area, got it repaired in a few hours, but now our water is looking pretty crummy. Cell phone service is still spotty to non-existent area wide. Blue Ridge Electric sent out a text late last night saying it could still be days until things are repaired. All of our local grocery and convenience stores are sold out of ice and many gas stations are out of gas.
IMHO the decision to bring in an additional 90k people for a football game when our local services are stretched beyond breaking is completely unacceptable. Clemson, ABC/ESPN and the NCAA obviously know better and determined that the show must go on.:rage: “We are talking serious money here, damn the local population.”

Duplicate post.

So any of you guys that are in areas of limited or no utilities need anything?

You are more than welcome to private message me if you would like.

Peace be with you all
