Share Cropper Cabin

Those cast iron legs are from a marble table top. But here is a example my son did with a treadle sewing machine base from another project. It is in a nicely done tree house air b&b.

I need to clarify this cabin is not mine, it is his project. His talent inside and out. I have helped only outside on the property. It will be a nice retreat that friends and family will enjoy.

I picked this up at a antique store because it reminded me of my grandmother’s.
Your son is very talented. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

Nice work, creative touches. I like the wood on interior walls the most. Those sinks are nice looking, would last about two days at our house🤣. We turned a shop into a cabin for my wife’s Mom and Dad. Photos of various stages of completion. Still got to finish the outside, inside complete. Her folks moved in. We installed a stair lift and safe step tub for them, and added a half bath on second floor bedroom. Converted one third of the carport into 12’ x 18’ laundry room. Installed two burner wood stove in glass room.

I got a small shop in what used to be a pool house. Previous owner filled in pool and now it’s a 40’ x 60’ concrete pad. Great for working on vehicles, projects, etc. Thought about building a metal building on it, but it would block the one view of the surrounding hills from the house. Note: We live on 2 acres, woods behind us, the wide open vista is the farm next to us. Not ours, but the view is🤣

I stopped to see my eldest son today to check out his latest finds. It blows my mind!

His home built around a one room cabin, reclaimed hewn logs that are nearly 150 yrs old. When I’m there it’s hard to leave.

His view is my therapy!

Absolutely! Rich in early Native American presence, wildlife and early Settlers along the Red River in Tennessee and Kentucky line. Andrew Jackson once had a pistol duel near this area.

Brother man… he lives in a bend of the river, we understand there was a “toll” bridge back in the day and this is what we think is the “footer”.?

The markings? Stone mason Masonic?

Wonder if you could find some old pictures of the toll bridge - it definitely looks like a bridge abutment (I think that’s the right word). The stonework is beautiful!
