Had a Dagger slide assembly that would lock up on my 124 gr reloads when cycled by hand.
These loads pass plunk test on two OEM Glock barrels, a KKM Glock barrel, a Lone Wolf Alpha Glock barrel, and a Shield barrel. My OAL is 1.103", where the SAAMI spec is 1.000-1.169. The barrel gives up a LOT of my tolerance band, and for a threaded barrel its the important part (heavy subsonic bullets).
Cartridge head was 0.015" proud of barrel hood. Slide would lock up tight on these rounds, requiring a rap against edge of wooden table to eject a loaded round (impossible by hand).
I was provided a replacement barrel at no charge but it was exactly as tight, though apparently a different source judging by markings and machining characteristics.
I sourced a tool steel throating reamer and have corrected the throat (does not touch the headspace). DLC is an exterior coating and so the bore is not hardened, as would be the case with Nitride/Melonite.
This is not a rant of any sort. Just passing along facts. Matt was terrific, but after receiving a second barrel the same as the first I figured there was slim chance of fixing this short of doing it myself. I may have received a barrel with SAAMI throat with the third try but I admit to not having infinite patience. Some people accept seating bullets deeper or excluding use of some factory ammo that doesnt fit. I am not inclined to do so. I expect a pistol to eat any SAAMI ammo.
