I just hope with the JAKL 9mm they take the criticisms to heart and develop a delayed blowback for it.

Definitely so. Straight blowback has at much more recoil, and if they’re making this from scratch then why not try to use some sort of delay.

i disagree with you about the lancet, to me its useless… 90% of the people who want it, dont have a place with a large enough range to shoot it, not to mention the ammo at 5-10.00 a shot is ridiculous. its a cool factor thing… yeah it’d be cool to say i have one but theres no way i’d ever be proficient at shooting it cause of lack of range, lack of money to feed it, etc. etc.
agree whole heartedly. Im super excited for the modular shotgun setup.
im also happy to be rooting for the Emerge setup.

im really surprised that the B&T mag won out between it and the glock mag… that shocked me… oh well.

The glock mag angle is just not right for this gun. That is what people love about the x57.
How would a delayed blowback pcc defeat the purpose of the Jakl? It is currently straight blowback junk. I’d argue the entire purpose of the Jakl is to offer more than a basic DI system and to properly match that the 9mm needs to have something more than a straight blowback system.
Honestly seems like BS to me. It might’ve won but “overwhelmingly” is clearly not true. All you have to do is read over any forum or the comments and see plenty of glock mag requests to make it at best a close call. Saying it was overwhelming shuts down the debate even if it’s not true though.
I’m confused by this. X57 has a glock like angle. Why would people love it about the X57 and it be wrong to have the same for the X9? Grip angle is something I learned a long time ago is a preference thing. Half the people are going to be with me in preferring a glock angle and hating a 90 degree angle, while the other half are going to be the opposite. So I’m not going to say from an ergonomic standpoint there is an actual better option. Sales wise PSA is fooling themselves if they think this choice wont massively hurt them down the road though. It’s easy to say you want it with b&t mags and a completely different matter when someone is actually ready to buy it and prices it out. PSA doesn’t seem to know their clientele with this choice.
X5.7 mag actually curves back to the front at the bottom, like the mp7. Its not as steep of an angle.
Take a glock and hold it about 6" from your face and look down the sights. Its not comfortable.
Don’t assume everyone else finds the same ergonomics comfortable. To me it’s perfectly comfortable. What isn’t is any 90 degree grip. I find semi-grip stocks to be quite comfortable. Even with a shorter LOP. Compared to that a Glock angle is nothing.
Maybe i was thinking the B&T style pdw. That mag may be straight but the grip curves. Cant remember. The glock mag issue is probably rooted in people already having extendos and not wanting to buy a different mag. What PSA needs is to develop their own mag for cheaper.
Yeah, B&T TP9 has as much grip angle as possible with that straight mag. So already much more ergonomic than the X9.
I’ll probably buy an X9 anyway if it is reliable and shoots fairly well for a delayed action. However these B&T mags are worrying me more the more I look into them. Sounds like some people have issues with the thinner polymer breaking since they can’t be reinforced as much as a mag not designed to through a grip. Double feed with no steel means there’s a lot of pressure at the top and not enough rigidity. A few people recommend KCI but those sound far worse. Ofc they’re trash. They’re KCI.

perhaps im mistaken, which is quite possible, but i would think you wouldnt need a long stroke piston setup anymore with a delayed blowback setup. like i said, i could be wrong, and may be so. but if not, that to me is what the jakl is based off of and thus would defeat the purpose if it couldnt be a long stroke piston anymore.
you may be right there, idk… usually the squeeky wheel gets the oil, though. and if the glock mag really won out im sure psa would have listened to its customers as they have so many other times in the past. yes the wordage does shut down debate, and perhaps that is what was needed. im sure either way though it will not have problems selling.
well the Rock has a less sharp of an agle than the glok does. the glock angle is much more pronounced. that said, i dont think itll hurt the sales in the long end that much … folks will still buy it all day long regardless what mag it has if they want the x9 .
yeah this or perhaps just use the scorpion mag, like they do in their arv an akv…
as am i. i truly cant believe it either, as i am not huge into shottys… .but building my own versions… hell yeah im down with that!!!
