Oh, if you were thinking they’d somehow keep it long stroke, then that’s a completely different matter. Unfortunately that’s not really a thing with a PCC. As is it is a direct blowback system with no piston at all. Delayed blowback would also eliminate the piston altogether. At least with mainstream modern guns the only PCC that has any kind of piston is the Sig MPX and it’s a shortstroke piston and not exactly known for reliability. Either way the options being discussed for the Jakl9 don’t involve any sort of piston or gas system at all.
i wouldnt measure the grip like that, but rather mag angle to mag angle, and you cant just compare standard glock mags. as each individual glock mag that is different in capacity has a different angle oddly when i looked at mine it appeared that way anyways… so lke my 33 rounder is much more of an angle than my 19 rnder.
I guess if you’re looking at the base of the mags… Why would you look at the base of the mag?
I promise you all the mags have the actual exact same angle. They certainly don’t change the grip angle of the gun based on what mag is inserted. And ultimately the only thing that actually matters is the angle of the actual grip. There’s some room to build up polymer in places and adjust it a little different than the mag. Like mentioned with the TP9 earlier.
The difference being how the grip not only incorporates the angle but the base of the mag also. That is what allows different grips. Hence the dagger vs p80 vs glock. Quadrilaterals and math start doing funky things despit angles staying the same (i.e. a 17 mag working in a 19 but the bases have different angles).
For the angle. As long as the internal angle stays the same the external angle can be changed. I.e. the dagger hump. But the basepad angle may change (and does) as you add length.
However, on some pcc’s such as the mp7 and rifle calibers such as 6.8spc the casing determines the angle/curviture of the mag over the feedlips. 6.8spc feed lips provide the same feed angle as 5.56, but the mag is different due to the bullet and casing size.
The 17 and 19 mags have different base plate angles because the follower is on the 17 mags is cut different to have the barrel sit on plane with the base plate with the mag installed.
Yup, put in a G19 mag and place it on a table on the base plate and the barrel will be inclined a little. install a G17 mag and it will be on plane with the barrel. The feed lips define how much geometry you have to work with. The human factors engineers will tell you you only have so much circumference to work with. I feel like we’re saying a lot of the same things with just a few differences.
I figured it would be in the 5. Lots of people wanta cheap .50…but the reality of people shooting $5 bullets often IMO is just not there. I could see many just becoming safe queens.
