Shotgun questions

I’m wanting a certain look of shotgun but don’t know exactly what yet.
Hoping that you guys can help me out here.

So what I’m thinking about is a trench or riot type shotgun with…

Old school look WW2 - Vietnam
Real wood
** Corn cob forearm
18"
Heat shield ?
Pump
Budget $400
** I’m going to be picky because this is
mainly for this certain look

Is anything out there like this that you have or would recommend?

Thanks in advance

Remington 870 with a heat shield

Rock Island AGM5

Not wood but a lot cheaper and definitely in your budget

Rock Island TPAS

A little over $400 but close

Gotta be wood for this one, but I like that one. Thanks @Welder

Now this is really close to the look I’m going for. I’d like the barrel and tube to be flush.
Thanks again @Welder

This might be the best option of a brand new trench shotgun BUT it will definitely blow your budget out of the water

Mossberg 590A1 Retrograde

This is on my wishlist and one day I’ll own one, just no time soon.

Man this is great information, thanks for sharing this @davidlandonjr

Can the metal on a new shotgun be given a worn look, patina if you will?

Oh man you’ve got a good eye.
Make it 18", remove the sights and cut the price in half.
Wow $900

But I like it @Welder

Winchester SXP has a trench model. Not the biggest fan of their heat shield but it fits your budget as well.

I’ve never seen one actually for sale for $900…they’ve all been over $1000 around here. This one is has actually passed all the trials for the military. The 590A1 is an upgraded version on their already nice 590. The Retrograde is their wood stock “throwback” version.

@Welder

That looks so much better without their heat shield AND it’s cheaper!

This one goes to the top of the list so far.
It checks most of the boxes.

@Welder

Sort of. If it’s blued, you can remove the bluing and cold blue it but not make it uniform. Cold bluing can be applied in multiple coats in some areas and not so much in others or wipe it off early, etc.

Light polishing compound, scotchbrite, drag it behind a pickup truck down a gravel road…

That’s a sharp looking shotgun as well! I didn’t know Panzer had models like that

That’s nice. I may get that one myself.

EDIT: On second thought, the reviews are horrible!!!
