Impressive collection. Yeah, I just got the one… I have owned, Ithaca 12 single shot, lever action (break barrel), 1956 Mossberg 16 bolt action 3 Rd magazine fed, Browning Belgium A5 12, Remington 870 12 parkerized. Would like to have that one back…
Cool, 45 long Colt/.410 right?
Which one is that? I got a holster and some rose wood grips in a lot of stuff from someone that I have no use for. I think the grips are for a defender (?) and holster fits judge and defender (?). If interested I’ll get pics in the AM and you can have them if you want.
Yeah it’s the public defender (shorty) .45/410. Wanted one even before they were available, didn’t get it for years, then that model was on sale at academy however many years ago for $300-350. I wasn’t a fan of the FDE/stainless/black hodgepodge but it’s grown on me.
Ordered something from CTD before they sucked and they threw in a universal OWB holster that fit a 1911 well, but good 1911 holsters are a dime a dozen and it fits the Taurus even better.
We fired the shotgun a few weeks ago at a sheet of cardboard. 00, 2-1/2 inch rds all 9 pellets flew in a perfectly flat horizontal line and spread about 18" across @ 30yds. This was repeated 4 times, with same result. 18.5 inch barrel. I wonder if gravity took over and with the 00 shot being fairly large instead of a round pattern, they spread horizontally, but not vertically due to same drop rate at that distance.
I wish I had something to say about the 887 Nitro Mag besides it can bust some clay in a pasture. Bought it over ten years ago with the intention of it being a goose and duck gun, but I just ain’t that mad at waterfowl. The tiny bit I’ve shot it I do like it. Was highly affordable. Everything I’ve read it is absolutely bulletproof and a lot of people wish it wasn’t discontinued but you know . . . Remington.
30"?
Shotguns are awesome.
Two .410 single shots from my childhood, H&R and Stevens.
Remington 887 Tactical 12ga. Extended magazine with door breacher muzzle.
Remington 870 SP 12ga 26” barrel.
Franchi Affinity 12 ga 28” barrel.
FNH SLP 12 ga. 18” barrel.
Stevens 20ga. double barrel. (Biden approved)
Nice. I like it. Looked awesome original as well…

When I was a kid owned: Ithaca Model 66 Super Single produced from 1963 -78. Came in .410, 20, 12 ga. The 12 gauge had 3" chamber, 28" barrel full choke.
I also owned Ithaca model 49 .22Mag also single shot, top feed/eject.
When I was 15 back in 1975, walked into sporting goods store and the pair shotgun and rifle were sold as a set for $71 (for the two). The guy said " did your mom say it was okay?" And I said yes. Paid for them, walked away with them, no big thing back then… When I joined the service in 1979, left them back home. My older brother sold or traded them for peanuts I’m sure. That and my 1968 fender precision bass for $50. That bass is worth around $3500.00 nowadays. Don’t you just love kinfolk?
I’ve never actually tried a shot gun. Just pistols and rifles here. My AR15 is my home defense weapon and my CZ P10 is my CCW. I struggle a little with the idea of owning a shotgun for home defense because the “BB” spread could be unpredictable (to my limited knowledge), therefore I would be risking collateral damage on family members.
Biden says that’s all you need, just fire two shots thru your living room ceiling, and the invaders will evaporate into thin air. His brain fart is your command.
Seriously, though, most folks grew up hunting with them as I did. You can’t hunt birds, ducks, squirrels with a rifle. Even if you’re dead eye dick, you do not want to fire a rifle round into the sky because it travels for miles… The shot spread is dependent on barrel length, choke, shot size, etc. It doesn’t spread as much as you would think at close range. There are videos, charts showing spread for various size shot at distance.
FYI 1" = 2.54 CM, so 5CM = 2", 10 CM = 4", 25 CM = 10".

I don’t need any more high dollar gimmick defense rounds. Buckshot is getting reasonable and more available online though last I checked.
Here is one of my recent projects

They don’t make them like this anymore.
