Shotguns need love too

Not sure what pics will do to help when all I want is the dimensions of the front trigger pin. I’d measure it myself but I don’t have a set of calipers.

Hope this helps. Click on the blue letters in first image, it is a direct link for parts. If that isn’t the correct pin I keyed on, that link to interactive parts diagram should help you. I have that same gun 12 ga. H&R 1871 Pardner Pump 18.5". Hawk industries makes them H&R no longer affiliated with it, now Blue Line Solutions branded, several vendors sell them. Brand new $150.

Very helpful, thank you. I tried to find all this info forever on the Googles and came up dry. Much appreciate it.

So for the JTSm12AK , I believe the recommended break in period is 500 rounds of high brass 1270 fps buckshot or slug…for a broke bastard like me what’s my cheapest path to getting through what looks like to me more cost in ammo than the shotgun?

I don’t “break in” any firearm, I just run enough ammo to give me confidence in it, and to zero it, be familiar with it’s handling, perceived recoil, etc and to stay proficient and practice marksmanship.

Other’s may have different opinions, and may suggest otherwise. I only know, that in todays economy burning through a bunch of ammo for kicks is equivalent setting my money on fire.

I have several types of rifles, shotguns and handguns.
I am a cheap bastard as well, and I run about 5 rounds per weapon per outing. I do not have to go to a range, but occasionally do for longer range practice.

Bottom line, do what you feel is best for you and your wallet. I say just run it, have fun and don’t worry about breaking it in. It will occur naturally over time.

I mean if I knew anybody with land at the city limits where I could go drop some brass for free I’d do that, lol I drive 20 minutes out of my way to go to the cheapest indoor range and drop 50 rounds per firearm I take in because I’m stubborn…but yeah it adds up fast.

Most guns are factory fired. They dont follow any kind of break in process, they just shoot them to make sure they work.

My FM9 manual…yea l got one with purchase, stated break-in and first cleaning @ 500 rnds. My BRD OCD will NOT let me have peace if l have a dirty weapon in the Armory…nor would any arms room under my signature. I blame it on Uncle Sugar

well I guess I have to take the m12ak out and run my birdshot through it.

Got my Mossberg 940 Pro yesterday. Ordered the Mesa Tactical MLOK fore end and GG&G CNC machined barrel clamp this morning

Is the magazine tube fixed, or is that a removable extension? The only reason I ask is that if you installed a longer length barrel, say for skeet or bird hunting the longer tube affects balance, regardless of plug, like 3 max rounds for hunting. I notice a lot of defense shotguns have higher capacity tubes.

I’m not an expert on shotguns, trying to learn as I go…

The extension is removable. This is a 7+1.

Mossberg is extremely versatile. I can add a longer barrel…I won’t. I have my Maverick 88 for that. It came with a 18.5” security barrel and a 28” hunting barrel.

I can keep the mag tube as is, add a longer extension for +2, +4, +6, or remove both and replace it with a higher capacity one piece tube.

That will extend beyond the barrel, not my favorite. I can also swap chokes, notice the end of the barrel swells for the integral choke.

10-4, I know mag extensions are not a new thing, just wondered about configuration/details.

Damn this 940 Pro is a nice ■■■ shotgun

My coming upgrades will just make it that much better

940 Pro, highly modified Maverick 88 and my new .308 AR 10

Looks good!

Nice group @rockymountainjeep

Which heat shield is on the 88

My Panzer M4 Turknelli will be here Monday

I went through my purchase history, couldn’t find the 88 heat shield

I’ll let you know if I do
