Side folder fitment

Can anyone advise if I would be able to replace a PSA triangle sidefolder AK stock with a PSA AK standard stock sidefolder? I get that they can be Underfolder, standard or sidefolder and non interchangeable of each but specifically questioning replacing the triangle version. Thanks all- somewhat newb to these so sorry if it’s an obvious answer but would rather be certain.

Yes. PSA uses a 4.5mm pin, so make sure you get that and not a 5.5mm. Both are used in the AK world.

Following up on the pin, its very doable but psa pins are tight, so be 101% sure you have everything supported and oriented before going at it, but give it some oompf. I replaced a bare hinge with a triangle stock on a 104 pistol after papers came back and it was an experience.

Does anybody know if surplus com bloc 4.5mm triangle folders will work? My PSA stock has some excessive wobble and I’d like to just replace it with an authentic Bulgarian surplus stock (and the correct rear trunion button with the hole in it)

The ones with 4.5mm hinges should work. Someone on here has one in the picture thread iirc.

That was mine. Put it on a 104 with bare hinge from factory. Post linked below:

Edit: note that some filing was necessary to get a good fit for the latch. Go slow, I rushed a bit and it has a touch of inconsequential but very noticeable wiggle.

Good to know. I prefer not to file but I’ll do what I need to to get the wobble out. The stock that came with my PSAK74 is unbearably wobbly.

Did you try tightening the two Allen head screws in the rear trunnion to eliminate the wobble?
