Can anyone tell me if the JMAC ST-6 skeletonized tube needs fitting on the rifle or is it drop-in? I notice you can order an AK-102 with one of these stocks on it, so I was curious what it took.
Also, can anyone tell me why the PSA-branded triangle stock isn’t a drop-in solution? It should fit perfectly out of the box, shouldn’t it?
Understood. But, I’m seeing in the reviews that when people try to mate the PSA-branded folding triangle stock with the rear folding trunnion of a PSA AK-102 and -103, it doesn’t fit.
I ask because I just took possession of my -102 today and I just don’t like the stock. I know the ST-6 from JMac Customs will work with PSA folders with a 4.5mm pin because you can order one with that folding stock included, I just want to know what I’m in for before I buy one. They’re a bit spendy.
I have never seen a folding triangle stock on an AK that didnt need a little bit of filing to make it work. No different than different brands of magazines. You end up with a custom fit.
I bought one of there 4.5mm mounts and it works very well, but I did need to file an drill the hole on the mount slightly larger. It took about 15 minutes of fitting and I used a bench vice with rubber jaws to hold the part while I worked on it, very easy to do.
