Sig Sauer Letter to FFLs Regarding Resuming Sales w/Arm Braces

Sig is hedging their bets that the pistol brace rule is dead…

PSA hedged that bet a month ago. Its dead and the more they sell the better. FATF.

I really want to put the 11.5 back on the lower. But the range I’ve been going to demands to “see your papers” for pistols and SBRs. I never got to test-fire it, so I do not want it on the lower until I’m sure it’ll save a life.

I would ask the range if they have changed their stance, and if not share the Sig article with them :grin:
@useful.easy.address

This letter is about a month old as well…

But I think you’re missing the point. It’s not that Sig is just selling braced firearms, it’s the fact that they’re willing to take back any stock from FFLs within 120 days of a reinstatement of the rule, or straight up swap braces for stocks at no charge.

Are you saying that PSA is willing to do the same? Because if not, that’s the difference. Sig will eat the cost so that the FFL isn’t stuck holding the bag should things go South.

I’ve yet to see or hear of any other manufacturer willing to do the same as Sig.

The difference is methods of sales. Sig distributes their firearms to stores to sell, PSA manufacturers and sells their own products (although they have sister companies such as DPMS that follow the Sig model).

We havent seen a letter similar to Sigs from PSA, but PSA also helped lead the charge with GOA to get the nationwide injunction. For them to start selling braced firearms almost immediately after the injunction meant their legal team was confident it was dead, just like you pointed out Sig’s letter is about. IMO Sigs letter is also a CYA just in case the AFT trys to do something stupid again. They want to save a whole lot of money and firearms, and on that note, who wouldn’t?

It won’t save them anything if they’re wrong, it will cost them. That’s not something you see very often in a capitalistic environment.

How much, only they know. So yes, it certainly is a positive development on all fronts, especially Sig’s confidence and willingness to put money on the table.

I’m betting the manufacturers know something that we don’t, yet

My speculation on saving money is for the non serialized parts. We see lowers being sold for $30, so they are cheaper than that to make. Swap a lower that was classified as a pistol to one that is classified as a rifle and swap uppers. Destroy the $30 lower instead of the $xxxx gun (or have it sit on your shelf as NOS inventory). Just a thought. Its all big boy lawyer advise at this point. Continued selling by everyone though is a good thing.

lol… no one ever cared what happened, except for the ban on russian ammo pretty sure that started ww3 what else do they sell besides vodka, check this out tho it’s funny…

@rockymountainjeep & @GuitarGuy I am glad to see both of you playing nice today. I congratulate both of you for that. To a certain extent I think you both are basically saying close to the same thing. There are some differences but I think that we all can agree that PSA & Sig are both two great companies that are working hard to secure not only the brace but the 2nd Amendment as a whole. Anything beyond that really doesn’t matter that much? I have given both companies a good deal of my money. I am happy to support any company that puts out a quality product at a decent price and supports the 2nd Amendment.

Nice to see a company willing to step up and think about the customer. Not a lot of companies with that level of integrity anymore.
