Y’all wanting a 5.56 Jakl need to check your ballistics. 5.56 is a rifle round with slow burning powder intended for a rifle length barrel. Out of a short barrel, 5.56 loses a ton of velocity and is more like a .22 WMR than a 5.56 out of a 20" for which is was designed. While it is fine for killing paper, it won’t shoot nearly as flat at longer distances.

If I want to poke holes in something at a distance, I’m not using 5.56. I want the Jakl because its more compact than my AR pistol. If I’m using that in a defensive situation, I’m not reaching out to distance with it.

I think it’s been mentioned. To be completely honest, all I’ve payed attention to with the JAKL are updates about 300 blk. Thats the one I want, and when a lot of the updates were coming out, I wasn’t in a spot where I had to keep up with all of them. I’ll find the video from the Gathering this year and share it in here.

out of a 6 inch barrel, the velocity is real close, but the projectile itself makes a big difference.

Yea I’d like a 300 but I cast have suppressors here and I’d def want one I think for that
I believe the 5.56 is said to have a 10.5” barrel. While not optimal for the cartridge its plenty capable if the gun reliably shoots it.
The biggest question at hand is when?

i believe that GuitarGuy is right, PSA at this time has not set a hard deadline as to when the Jackl will be released.
Do you think we’ll see a 16 inch version at some point? You could use something like the MAGPUL Zhukov stock on a AR platform at that point.
I’m looking forward to the 300blk version. I’ve been considering a truck build recently and this would for the bill.
