So I want another can...talk me off the ledge or give me a push

I have a direct thread 9mm that is great. I load 147 9mm plated and it is excellent.
Now I want .45 can for the ability to put a booster for a pistol, and the fact I can shoot factory ammo or reload subs. The one I was looking at is the Rugged Obsidian 45
I want an endcap for 5.56, a piston for 1/2x28 for 9&.22 and maybe a fixed mound for .45 or piston spacer and maybe a 3 lug.
I hear the wait time is 20 days to e-file , except they are on back order and accessories are out of stock too.
It figures I save up the cheese and can’t get what I want. I see everything is out of stock and I will have to wait anyway or should I just get a dedicated .22 can and more ammo

Got my ZF5 SBR in 2 days. Actually, I filed Tuesday afternoon and approved Thursday morning. That was with EFT, but I hear times all over the place. I might have just got lucky. Funny thing was I was talking to a Frenchman and he has a Walther and in Europe they can buy cans over the counter. That would be nice.

The O45 is huge but it has a lot of applications. Would be one I would look at if in the market.

You can buy cans from lots of different places if the store you want is out of them.
I can’t talk you off the ledge because I want the same :grin:

@TJ71

Not advertising just random find from dealer link
Rugged Suppressors Obsidian 45 Silencer, Black (OBS0145) - City Arsenal

Green top has two .45 cans near me. One is blackhawk one is ghost. But I want the Rugged Obsidian. They have a kiosk too. All I know is I really don’t want a sealed can. I want to take it apart to clean.
The fact I can add adapters and shoot 308,45.70, 7.62x39 is kinda nice even if I need to load or find sub sonic I will never run it harder than it’s belt fed rating!

This is where i was looking

Obsidian owner here…mine is the 9. Do your research. The 9s are prone to baffle and end cap strikes. Not sure the 45 is the same, but my 9 has been back twice for repairs.

I have a YHM 45 that is great. I would suggest looking at the YHM R45.

Yes sir I also want the Rugged Obsidian 45 with the same attachments you mentioned.
I have come awfully close to pulling the trigger on it several times but just haven’t for different reasons.
With PSA offering suppressors on the website starting next month I’m personally going to wait and see how those prices compare to others dealers.

I’m going to assume that if you don’t live close to a store with a kiosk then they will mail you the fingerprint card to do yourself and mail back in.

@TJ71

You can find local places to do digital prints. Hansohn Brothers will convert your physical prints for you to digital. Here the local jail will do your prints for $20. Have them converted and never pay again.

Yep, I used the UPS store for my printscan EFT. Worked great, about 60 bucks I think but will not need any others unless I lose my file. Cards are a lot cheaper of course but time…

Did not know that, thanks.

@GuitarGuy

I have never owned a suppressor they are registered themselves and you don’t have to register the firearm you use it on?

Correct. You have to pay a 200 tax , get finger printed,photograph, give a copy to your local police chief,and wait for months. Now you can electronically file and sign with a much faster turn around.

Correct, unless its an sbr.

I ordered the 3 lug female 9mm,3 lug male 1/2 x28, 1/2x28 piston, and the fixed barrel spacer.I have a 1000.00 gift card to use for Obsidian .45 and tax with some to spare for maybe a 9mm end cap. I have to wait till Monday when the silencer shop is open to use my gift card to order. I have a kiosk about 30 min from my house. The guys at the store said wait times are about 10 Days! Some come back in 3!!!
I have a G21 threaded barrel but I want to find an M&P threaded for my compact as it has a way better trigger!

awesome! congrats to you and being able to order it soon!

Feb 10 1/2 hour on hold to place the order for the Obsidian 45 that shows it is in stock…Its not.
I’m number 12 in the backorder for 50 coming in approximately 2-3 weeks. They are swamped with orders! The good thing is my accessories arrive on the 14th so I can work on a case with foam and load some more .45.
My third stamp but first time e-filing I’m 75% done with only the finger prints remaining.
I will wait until it arrives as they can’t submit it without the serial#. Hopefully some time in March I’ll have it in my paws! Way better than waiting several months
I did ask about the 5.56 marked end cap cuz I did not see that listed as a cartridge that was approved. They told me its for .22lr ?

Obsidians only have a 45 or 9mm endcap. I recommend using the 45 cap for all. Otherwise you will probably get an end cap strike.

I also recommend short config only with 3 lug or you may get a baffle strike.

They list a 5.56 and 7.62 along with the 45 and 9mm

Thank you @TJ71

@GuitarGuy
Please don’t take any offense to this but your answers are not always correct as well meaning as they are.
Lot’s of folks in here take yours as gospel so I’m just pointing that out so maybe you will be a little more cautious with your answers going forward. No offense.

Trust but verify!
