I don’t know if any of y’all had planned to make it this year, but there has been a change in venue. This year, PSA will be hosting The Gathering at Clinton House (rather than Sawmill like last year). I know @SuperPredator attended last year and we are hoping to make it this year. March 18-20. I plan on coming down from Ohio. Can anyone give a little more experience on how the event operates? I watched the short video and it didn’t elaborate much.
Firearm demos and clinics - Do we get hands on range time? Do you rent the guns and buy ammo? Are classes free?
If I drive down from Ohio I was planning on staying for the weekend. Does each day have a different schedule of events?
Is the event strictly informational or will there be a gun show style marketplace?
Sorry for all the questions! I just want to get a feel for whats involved before committing.
You get to test fire full auto stuff using their ammo. Lots of sales booths set up but for display only… you have to order whatever guns they have on display. All in all it was a good time.
A representative for PSA got back to me with this additional information. I thought I would share for everyone to read.
"Hands on range time is one of the main draws to range day. Companies are providing their own ammo, and allowing attendees to come and test out their firearms so you can get a good idea of how that firearm handles and operates. There aren’t necessarily different schedules of events per day, the only thing that will change is who has a range on what day (this only pertains to some ranges, as some ranges have been rented for the duration of the event. Range schedules will be posted soon so you can make your attendance decision based off of that). We are allowing sale of product, however, serialized items will not be for sale at the Gathering. All this being said, we do have 17 active shooting bays, with multiple companies on some of the bays, and a vendor village that features 150 vendor tables, so you should be able to stay busy the whole time.
Let me know if you have any more questions, and we look forward to seeing you there!"
You had me at Full Auto. A free Stop The Bleed class is just icing on the cake. I lost a TQ last deer season (ripped off gun while walking through really thick brush) and need to replace some other items in my blowout kit.
I’ll check their site to see who has what range on what day and buy ticket(s) accordingly.
Barrett has announced for $10 you can participate in their 1 mile challenge. You get 2 shots. If you hit the target you get a special challenge coin. Proceeds go to Laurens County SWAT.
