The Ruger 10-22

I would respectfully claim “Field Manual” i.e. FM10-22!

Steve, I ended up building this off of a new 8” Charger. Seems counterintuitive, but…

Once you fall down the rabbit hole of 10/22s and Chargers it’s a whole new world.

Initially I was working with Kevin and planned on building a Charger from scratch to get exactly what I wanted. The cost ended up being 2-3 times the cost of buying one from Ruger and going from there. If, and this is a big if, you can even find parts actually in stock.

And as long as we’re talking about in stock items, good luck finding an 8” Charger. There are 10” versions all over, takedown versions all over…I wanted the 8” non take down. It took a few weeks, maybe a month to find one where the seller wasn’t price gouging.

So here we are today. I’m $250 to $270 over the cost of the Charger, but honestly the only thing I bought extra that I wouldn’t have had to buy for a stock Charger/chassis was the SB Tactical chassis for $99. So the bottom line is I spent an extra $99 to do it my way. :+1:t3:

Finished today…well, except for a special trigger

Good work guys, looks like a ton of cheap shooting is going to be enjoyed.
Always nice to see how we are all so willing to help one another in this group. @19foxtrot , @rockymountainjeep
I’d love to build one of these myself down the road.

One other note on my brace cookbook above: If you’re doing a Convertible with both brace and stock modules like mine, I recommend two tube-and-QD-riser assemblies. One those LOP limiters are pegged in they are a BUGGER to get out again.

Took the granddaughter out today with the 10/22 she got for Christmas

First 10 rounds

Second 10

Iron sights at 25yds. Could not get the smile off her face and the “dust and pollen” was making my eyes water.

Very proud of her.

As an update, I finally got into my storage unit and brought a spares-bin M4 wafflestock to swap on in place of that SOPMOD. Yeah, the SOPMOD makes better balance and “feels more spy-movie,” but it’s also a pain in the arse making everything fit in the case.

Basic business stats such as sales remain positive and the company took reorganization charges to align with the new CEO’s future plans.

BTW, there are 63 different 10-22 models available in 9 categories.

Aren’t they the ones who bought Anderson?

Did l read Ruger bought the Remington property in NY?

Also Remington built the Marlin 39A there towards the end of the 39A…never knew that.

Ruger bought Marlin right?

Edit…Ruger did not buy the plant in NY
