Totally, mine broke a little closer to the base, but something similar is happening.
Yeah, the roll pins in my repair kit were useless, one was two big and the other wasn’t long enough and possibly too big in diameter. I’ll be sure to ask them to send me all 4 pins. I haven’t tested my new firing pin yet. I had to use my old roll pin, that had a chip on the end (from me hitting it with the hammer), but I got it work. Did the new firing pin and roll pin work for you?
Well, I haven’t had a chance to live fired it yet. But, as I posted earlier, after putting in the new parts and doing 30-40 dry fires with mostly snap caps, I pulled it back apart. I found damage to the roll pin with that half-moon shape dent in it, similar to the old broken pin. Which I believed cause the first pin to break off a piece and possibly jammed the firing pin.
That dent doesn’t seem right after less than 50 dry fires. The firing pin must be bouncing back hard even with a new firing pin spring. I only see it getting worse like the old one (which had 800 rds on it before it happened).
