Many years ago I had a Springfield Armory Inc. M1911A1 that shot well after I put a 23 # recoil spring on it. When the “red flag” confiscation was attempted on me I sent that off the auction along with most everything else. Recently I bought a standard TISAS M1911A1 and am very happy with it.

If I had to wager, likely someone with a personal vendetta against him called authorities with lies about him and his collection. I’ve had something similar happen to me but luckily the person’s past and record vs mine made it so they didn’t bother looking into it.

Got a “standard” parkerized GI model Tisas a year ago. Very accurate and reliable out of the box. An excellent shooter.
