One of these two ride in the truck when I do. I mean, if i owned a truck or any guns, which I don’t…

Hold up
When I worked at a governmental agency in Downtown Chicago, I was subjected to a trunk search daily. I carried a Kel-tec Sub 2000 in .40, 2 Glock 22’s in my truck. I switched out the .40’s, for an AR-15 in .223 and 2 Sig P220’s, along with my BOB. It’s amazing what you can hide in vehicles.

Whoosker do’s? Whoosker dont’s? With or without the scooter stick
Good thinking. I have absolutely no swag on my truck at all. Pure stock.
I’m thinking unloaded is always ok legally in Virginia. Also loaded is ok depending on the county you are in. If it’s a short AR registered as a pistol loaded should be ok anywhere in the state. This is just my understanding of the Virginia laws. If I’m wrong please correct me because I’m not trying break any laws.
From what I’ve read: You can transport any legal gun (unloaded) from purchase to home and home to range and back, but not just randomly. Additionally, anything with a native mag larger than 20 rounds is considered an assault weapon and that puts loaded transpo into a felony category.
In my car, it’s blades only. Too risky here for firearms to be left in vehicles. Might feel different if I had a way to secure AND hide one, but I don’t think there is, and this car is on its last leg, so I’m not willing to do crazy mods on a junker.
First off, if that AR barrel isn’t 16", I do hope you have your tax stamp for that AR… Or have plans to ditch that rifle stock and put a pistol stock on it?
I was driving a Rock-N-Roll bus from NYC to Connecticut to pick up some of the band members then return to NYC. On my way up I seen a car roll off to the shoulder, (Break-down) and all I could think was that poor bastard… On my return trip to NYC just 45 minutes later, that very car was stripped down like a Thanksgiving turkey… I have seen the very same situation occur in Van Horn, Texas, a town of about 1,600 in the middle of nowhere Texas along I-10.
So, realize, no matter WHERE you live, you are a victim if you set yourself up for it! People SEE your hardware and the way you truck it around; they just may plan to visit your vehicle some other time when you let your guard down.
If you are serious and practice with your wife in quickly grabbing your hardware… (To avoid putting out each other’s eyes.)

Good eyes @GregoryRomeu, that barrel is 10.5” without the Silencer Co compensator. I have a clone of that rifle that I also hunt with suppressed that’s a 300 blackout. Thing is a hog slayer.
Being employed in the firearms industry is one of the main reasons I do carry. Especially with a rifle in the truck while traveling. One key life lesson I learned in the army is if you present a soft target the enemy will capitalize on that. You present a hard target, the list of threats decreases substantially. Nevertheless, I never store firearms in my vehicle.
Just noticed you left your fire safe select switch on Fire position. Happy hunting with your swiss army knife AR

I literally just about bought a “come and take it” decal for my car until I read that. Smart thinking.
I’m building another Swiss Army AR.
This one will be 17" folded and fit in a small Molle pack.
