Before our most recent ammunition drought, I used to regularly pick up boxes of TULA (steel cased) soft-point 124 & 150 gr. 7.62x39 ammo. The stuff was more than accurate enough for my purpose (Eastern Swamp Deer at less than 100 yards, plus home defense), the projectiles have proven themselves to expand reliably and the rounds feed & fire as dependably as the sunrise in the East. The 150 gr. version has been the proverbial ‘hammer of Thor’ on those Swamp Deer.
The problem is, now that thing are starting to return toward normal, I can no longer find the stuff! Does anyone have any idea why?
Many thanks, in advance.

I saw it maybe three weeks ago. Let me see if i can find the email.
Nope. It was Barnaul at Classic Firearms.
Not exactly a great price, but available:
https://www.preppergunshop.com/tula-ammunition-7-62x39-154gr-soft-point-1000rd-case
$469.99 for 1k plus $10 shipping and tax
Never ordered from them… but Southern Munitions had a case of 1k slightly cheaper for $419 plus $25 shipping about a week and half ago.
Was posted on the gundeals subreddit and sold out. Here’s a link to the product page if it comes back:

It would have been 124gr, not 150, but I think I might have a couple 100ct boxes lying around. They are from the Before Times, so I’m not into them for too much. If theyre the right bullet, I’ll update this weekend.
Dunno if you’re still looking, but SGA has some now…
