We need a binary lower!

I’m really surprised PSA hasn’t made a lower that has safe/fire/binary safety selectors. They make small runs of every little thing (still not sure who is buying the Thanksgiving lower) and I think this would be pretty popular. One in 5.56 and one in 9mm, please!

The meme lowers sell really well. Binary unfortunately is a niche. Without the trigger the lower doesnt make a lot of sense. Good idea though

Of course you need the trigger. That’s the point of having the lower. Thousands and thousands of triggers out there between Franklin and Fostech. I’m sure there are a lot of people like me who want a propertly marked lower and not a red sticker.

I can see adrenaline junkies wanting binary setup. I do not want a round discharged unless I squeeze the trigger. I operated fully automatic weapons in the military. IMHO the binary trigger compromises your ability to safely handle a firearm. Call me a killjoy, but I think skirting around Federal laws & safety gives Infringers more reasons to attack our 2A. They already think semi means fully…

I agree with bonamoleonard……discretion is appropriate when using firearms. Much more so if you are enjoying your 2nd Amendment rights with FRT or Binary triggers.
The AFT’s description for NFA items is intentionally written vaguely enabling them to skirt outside the bounds of what is written……to bring the force of Fed Justice to bear on unwitting citizens. This happened couple of years ago with the bump stocks. They are going after Rare Breed Triggers, and Solvent trap kits.
Recently Kristopher Ervine was.arrested for selling what amounts to a laser etched drawing on a piece of sheet metal. IF….someone were to cut the drawing out and bend it precisely in the right spots….the piece could be used to induce fully automatic gunfire. The guy never sold guns or parts to guns….but he still had to post bail, and hire an attorney. The $ $ involved in these legal actions is astronomical. The AFT will lose these cases….just like they lost the case against the bump stock……but they don’t care… they don’t lose money when they lose a case. They continue to enjoy their salary….their agency continues to operate without penalty……… But for whoever has to defend themselves from them…it will be 6 to 24 months of legal battle with an unknown cost for legal representation……that you must have….because the risk of losing a case against them is an excessive penalty. Neither the Agency nor the agents give a damn about the citizens or our 2A rights. They are only interested in the short term goal of winning their immediate case. With every case comes a chance of winning….and they play it happily (ignorant) never entertaining the thought that they might lose.
I wouldn’t manufacture a lower with “binary” on it. The Alphabet boys can stretch the definition to bring a lot of trouble to the manufacturer……and worse, any names of buyers ensnared in their investigation. ……

I could go on and on….but suffice to repeat……Discretion ! always with our hobby. That goes double when dancing near the line.

Yeah, company xyz is giving away a flamethrower this month. I ain’t entering that contest for fear of being placed on some watchlist. I need my guns for defense and enjoyment, I don’t know, maybe I’m old… Now there is an actual Gatling gun for sale and it’s legal because you have to crank a handle to make it cycle. However, I see this going to hell in a hand basket because some backyard mechanic is going to remove the handle and chuck up a Milwaukee battery operated hole hawg onto it and bam, full auto. (Don’t go getting no ideas y’all . Did I mention that the Gatling gun costs $59,000.00!!! In the state of Georgia in the constitution, which I have read regarding firearms. It considers any gun capable of repeating by mechanical means a machine gun. The good people here in our state of Georgia’s government regard this as a technical fact, but when applying plain old common sense realize the actual difference, thus not a reason to infringe on our right to bear arms.

P.S. I am not trying to ruin Verbalkint’s day. I admire your enthusiasm for having the ability to rain down a steady stream of hot lead whenever you get the notion. I just don’t like the way the political winds are blowing these days, so I err on the safe side. Like granddad said, you can’t walk thru the chicken yard too many times lest you’ll wind up stepping in ■■■■…

i would buy a binary lower, and then i’d buy a triggger to go with it. just to have it… depending on the selector markings. GuitarGuy today at lunch had mentioned some selector markings for this type of a lower that i’d really liked.

Go for it! I just aim then fire. Then scan for other threats, but when I release the trigger my weapon does not unintentionally fire another round off into space… But if you did not want to bother with aiming or leading target you could walk the dust trail up to coincide with your target, that’s sorta like a closed loop system like the phalanx, but only works if your in some dusty place where it ain’t been rainin like the desert.

I know I am out of line, and trying to hijack this thread, but here goes:

Sorry, couldn’t resist…

It takes far more to ruin my day than having someone who doesn’t understand how a binary can be effectively used comment on my thread. Us “adrenaline junkies” don’t always dump a D60 in 10 seconds when the selector is set to binary and ammo is too expensive to not aim. Also, not to nitpick but Trump banned bumpstocks, not the ATF, and the way a FRT triggers work is nothing like a binary. PSA sells binary triggers already so a lower makes perfect sense, and makes any lower with a binary safer because it’s properly marked. The last time I filled out a 4473, there wasn’t a space that asked what the selector markings were on a lower receiver, or anyone buying the lower below would need to worry. You do your thing. I’ll do mine. PSA can make money off a good idea, or not. No more lectures needed.

10-4. Got it, it’s Trump’s fault…

You have to consider the break even margin for PSA. Not sure what that is, but i guess they would have to sell hundreds for it to be worth it. That may be why no company has done it. When you look at the overall market, a FRT or a binary is still a niche category with the majority of gun owners not jumping on board. I cant name a single one of my friends with ar15s that have a binary trigger.

By the way, I apologize for trolling, and being a jerk. Sometimes I get carried away, then I realize that joking around can get a little too mean spirited. I will try to stay in my lane.

Also not trying to ruin anyones day.
Pres Trump asked the ATF to “REVIEW” the bump stock issue……because it was a highly politicized AR accessory that WAS involved in the single most deadly mass shooting in our history. It was the ATF that re-interpreted their own regulations defining the stock as a “Machine Gun”.

My earlier thread cautions: to use discretion anytime your dancing near the threshold of the rules and regulations. We as the 2A community are lucky that Gov attorneys are NOT motivated to win (my experience is that they are terrible attorneys). They are lazy and they lost this case. Truth and justice prevailed…….but it was a great deal of $ $ $ spent fighting the ATF and the dept of justice.
I have experience both sides of gov litigation. It is prohibitively expensive. I am not ruining anyones fun with whatever toys we like to play with. Lord knows that I love to use mine also.
I am saying that all LEGALLY sold and used devices……similar to the Binary trigger are under the scrutiny of the ATF currently.
Have fun….enjoy them……but be smart and use discretion. Unless you have enough wealth to fund a good team of attorneys……it’s probably a better practice to not to be making YouTube videos and showing off your binary boom stick.
I like to have fun, and a good time……but ever since I experienced “The United States of America” vs “Me”….even though I won….I am a lot less inclined to wave a red flag in front of the bull. I am happily dancing unseen, unheard and anonymously.

I’m absolutely Through with “Compromise” and “Reasonable Restrictions” on MY Rights.

Not One More Inch.

Agree….we need to fight them at every issue. That is why winning the bumpstock case was so important. If we allow them any win…collectively, we as a 2A society lose in the long run.
Not many people own those bump stocks……but it was an important case not to allow the Feds to begin dismantling out 2A rights.
I agree……don’t give them an inch ! !

This is a great story on the subject of reclaiming all of our rights:

I agree with the idea of getting them in front of a jury, but we don’t have the people in place in law enforcement (see FBI), judiciary (see Merrick Garland et al), or legislature (see all of them) with the balls to do anything. Until we get those people to do their job our best option is to get out and vote in person. Volunteer to be a poll worker, urge other people to go to their local polling facility and vote in person. We the people have great power IF we use it wisely.
If you have any suggestions as to how we can get the prosecution of these crooks going I’m all ears.
