Wiggling parts BNIB

Just picked up my American Bastard and have some serious concerns as soon as I opened box. The lower jl handguard on the front rocks up and down on the front of the gun about an 1/4" screws are tight. This piece sits slanted and is loose in every direction. Just wiggles and rattles everywhere and I bet I could yank it hard enough and it would come completely off. This can’t be correct as my old wasr had better fit. I can only upload 1 pic via rules.

Give customer service a call to get a warranty fix done.

So I’m not crazy and that is not correct right lol?

Something looks off to me, looking at those pics.

Your correct……that lower handguard…….it’s possible……BUT, I’ve never seen one of those before.

Wish CHAOSAUDIO318 would post a photo of the entire handguard….rather than just a portion of it.

Best I have on me lol. Posted in my AK groups on FB gun is getting shipped back as there should be no wiggle and should sit flush with lower handguard. Not sure PSA inspects guns prior to shipping like card says. Most likely they inspect only numbered parts prior to build. As this should have never been shipped. Top handguard spins left and right on gas tube. Pretty much the entire front end of gun will need to be broken down and fixed…

What it should look like

The top one is rotated to install it. To remove it, you rotate it. It’s supposed to rotate. I use a small “dot” of epoxy on mine to keep it from moving….but I can still use a knife to cut the epoxy and remove it. Your bottom hand guard…… I have no idea….as I’ve never seen one of those before.
Your right though…if it came from PSA loose like that….it was overlooked. Good on PSA for correcting it.
Post some pics of it when it is returned to you.
I am going to have some questions about it when you go to shoot it…So keep us posted.

Now that I have an AKV and changed the furniture, i have something to compare it to.

It may not have been pushed all the way back when tightened. When I first changed my furniture, I didn’t push it all the way back when I tightened it, and it looked like that.

Try taking the top cover off, then loosen the lever, push it back, and lock it down. That may be it.

Yep. I believe that’s what it is. Look at your pic. The lever isn’t pushed down all the way. That’s how it moved forward and is why it is wiggling. Take the gas tube cover off and you can get to the lever. Rotate it to loosen, put the handgaurd in place, then rotate back to tighten.

Here’s the position that lever should be in:
