I ordered a GF4-E 14.7” P+W Brake barreled receiver and picked it up from my FFL on Wednesday. I gave it a quick look over like most people do at the gun store. Correct barrel length, muzzle brake looks good, and box tag says GF4-E. At home I finally notice it’s marked GF3 on the receiver and bolt, but somehow the serial number matches the GF4 label on the box… mild panic starts.
I called PSA and the CS rep said my options were (A) return for full refund or (B) exchange by sending back and then the new one will be shipped. Under normal circumstances this is not a big deal; however, my oppressive state is estimated to pass a semi auto rifle ban in early April. This barreled receiver took 11 days from order placed to in my hands, so the timeline doesn’t look good for an exchange. Reading other people’s stories about shipping labels taking days to be received has me feeling even more defeated.
I asked if I could just be credited the price difference ($150+tax) and the CS rep quickly said no. I also asked if they could guarantee expedited shipping in a subsequent email, but they did not respond yet. I’d really like to have the AK I paid for, but the logistics seem too risky at this point.
What advice do you all have? Thanks.
