X-57 update

Okay, thank you for confirming. I hope this means x-5.7 in like 2 weeks.

Have to think the X5.7 is requiring a lot more from the ground up design and engineering than the .308 JAKL and the 570.

I mean yes and no, It does seem to be using most of the functions from the Rock, which is more of an in-house start than they had for the 570, but I am curious to know what the operating mechanism is.

X57 update will be tomorrow.

Additionally…they have working prototypes. Fine tuning IMO takes as much time as a working prototype, and then they have to function test with 10s of thousands of rounds.

Well good that might let me know how soon my financial ruin is coming for me.

It can take MORE. Then consider any injection molded parts, and the six-to-eight months it takes for the Die-Shop to build your mold(s), and the Tuning of those molds for acceptable production parts…

Anything not already “Off The Shelf” is by definition a Custom Part. That they’re as far along as they are is a testament to the drive and dedication of the Design Team.

IIRC they already swapped the process on one part from polymer to AL due to the issues you speak to.

That was the upper that got swapped.

I just want some mags from it for my rock.
Would like to buy one but with the ar57 I have I won’t put this near the top of my list of items to buy. As most know a surrpressor is next on my list.

Where it is, how it is, where it’s been, where it’s going… I’ll take whatever info I can get. Curious what the little red dongle is on the back of the one in the video.

Probably a spring plunger to assist the brace in opening, just like the flux, or something related to takedown

Is it to early to say, that this platform would also attract buyers if it were made i in 9and 45

Literally all the people who for some unfathomable reason don’t want this in 5.7 have been saying that since it showed up at Shot Show last year.

In the first video of this thread, he mentions the upper was changed from polymer to aluminum so they could evolve the platform. So best guess at this point would be that “evolve” means different caliber(s). :man_shrugging:

The delayed blowback system of the rock 5.7 isn’t exactly conducive to 9/40/45 and similar, so its unlikely that the x57 will interchange with those calibers.

It looks like they’ve brought a prototype 9 mm setup to shot show.

Definitely doesn’t look like it shares any parts at all with the x57 but it does look cool.

2- X9 That looks like the X5.7 but shoots 9MM
